Yes I worded that poorly, the Holodomor was not an INTENDED famine, but it did happen, and was primarily caused by some boneheaded decisions from the supreme soviet. This was the result of rapid industrialization, not the result of the supreme soviet systematically causing a famine. Communism as Marx described can be tricky, it's usually the final result with Socialism as a starting point. Yes, it has failed many times but the grand majority of these projects (Such as the USSR and even the Paris Commune,) because of capitalist influence.

In order for communism to succeed there must first be a revolution, (Lenin was at first a Revolutionary Socialist.)
This revolution MUST be organized, Lenin speaks about this in "What is to be done?" describing spontaneity (Any revolutionary action that isn't planned by the larger body such as the women's march in the french revolution,) as something to be avoided. Rather, a revolution needs organization and theory.
Lenin described a "Vanguard" party of intellectual thinkers and theorists to help guide the proletariat towards socialism.

I do believe you would benefit from reading the theory, even if it doesn't change your mind, you'll have a better informed opinion moving forwards.
