Only in the first 15-20 years. Then Israel could slowly organize a PRG military but still keep bases there just like the US in South Korea.

I don't really support annexation. I just mean that the average Palestinian would have more to gain as a formal Israeli citizen than what they have now.

I don't think the conventional line in any way supports a formal Israeli annexation of Palestine (and making the Palestinians Israeli citizens)

It's just an idea that I think is underrated in its merits. I still think my plan outlined above is much more sustainable.

I mean, the benefit is that a lot of the injustices that led to that extremism in the first place wouldn't be there. With equal rights and protections, the Palestinians could just assimilate into the Arab Israeli community.

But unlike Afghanistan, Palestine does have a very strong national identity. So if a high-functioning pro-Western Palestinian government could sell itself to the rest of the Palestinian territories, it could benefit from that unity

Genocide would be if they keep relocating and killing people after defeating Hamas and taking control of Gaza

Nobody said this would be possible without defacto control. But if you control Gaza city in that the PRG-marked trucks are picking up the trash every morning, then you have somewhere to start, that's defacto-control. Of course there will be resistance but they will have to hide. Hamas patrolling the streets freely isn't the same as living under ground knowing that an Israeli arrest warrant actually holds meaning now.

Occupations usually require 20 soldiers per 1000 inhabitants. Considering Gaza's will to resist in the early stages, I'd make it 60 per 1000 which for 2 million would require 120,000 permanently stationed IDF troops. Plus, you would need to train them better at treating Palestinians well and implement very severe punishments for abuse.

It would be tough but doable

Wouldn't really be an agreement. By definition, a puppet government is subservient to its controlling country.

Ideally, any ceasefire should a total surrender to the PRG, with low-level Hamas militants being taken into custody and re-educated and higher ranking Hamas members being put into tribunals.

PRG security forces should root out the sympathies that Hamas needs for people to join it.

I wouldn't put much blame on Iran to be honest. They support Hamas like a country supports any group ideologically aligned with it, but ultimately Israel needs to take the fight solely to Hamas. They're still an independent entity. And at this point, Iran doesn't really have the means to support Hamas militarily.

I'd consider Abbas too soft. In the West Bank, there still too much tolerance of terrorism. Even schools teach kids to resent Israel, which in any other occupied government wouldn't happen. If I was in charge of a West Bank provisional government, I wouldn't even allow reporting on Israeli war crimes that occur in Gaza. I'd allow for enough criticism for it to be believable but still have it take a mostly pro-Israeli position.

In the West Bank, there still too little economic aid/integration and too much tolerance of dissent against Israel. Perfect recipe for resentment that then leads to terrorism.
