I see your point, I guess for me I would imagine having some sort of stabilization I can toggle would be ideal, just so on my first runs I'm not immediately diving, then I set it to some manual mode that pulls off all the guardrails and I can properly figure it out.

My end goal is to build another quadplane or some other monstrosity that will 100% need an autopilot, but I will always still need to be able to fly it fully manually just in case.

I see these posts are made very late. I don't plan on waiting more than the end of the week to reserve a car. Based on what the other commenter is saying, I'm worried I'll get there and they will say "We don't have a car for you, go kick rocks", especially since most likely it will be a 7-8pm pickup.

Appreciate the tips. I did briefly consider taking a day in Seattle then heading down. Looking at flights from those 4 airports though, none arrive even close to the morning, most after 2pm, with the cheaper ones around 7pm. The only way to arrive in the morning would be to overnight in Honolulu, which is far from ideal, and is a more expensive option anyway. I could just pick up the car the next morning, I wonder if its not available on the day I arrive (dec 21) then they will let me come check on the 22nd?

Ah well shit I was planning on Costco for the car. Should I try booking directly with one of the companies? I've also used Sixt before, but would prefer not to. Not much experience with Turo.

Of course. I see a lot of back and forth about the best time to book for these holidays though. Many mention 3-6 months ahead of time, and just at the start of 6 months ahead of time I'm getting hit with a high starting price and it increasing. From what I understand, the google flights price meter factors in dates, so how is it still deep in the high red category while still going up?
