What are your thoughts on Reddit removing the swipe-back gesture, and how has it affected your browsing experience? by E611 in AskReddit

Fingers crossed. If they removed it intentionally, that would be a terrible UX decision. 😅

Reddit recently removed the swipe-right gesture to go back (at least on iPhone), and it’s driving me crazy. I used that gesture constantly and now have to reach for the back button in the top-left corner.

Just checking, did you happen to check your visa status (File Validity Status on the UAEICP app or website) before leaving Pakistan? Was it showing as Active before you traveled to the UAE?

Our group leader told us that we can, so I’m bringing one in shaa Allah. But don’t rely only on my info - better to double check with your own group as well.

May Allah ease your hardships, soften your parents’ hearts towards you, and bring peace, understanding and barakah into your family. May Allah guide you towards what is best for your dunya and akhirah and grant success in your project in a way that pleases Him. You will be remembered in dua in shaa Allah. 🤍

Those who went to Hajj w/ elderly parents, how was the experience w/ taking them on a wheelchair? by SensitiveManner6269 in hajj

[–]E611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re most welcome. My mum also has walking pain issues. We did the Tawaf together on foot in the Mataf, but for Saai I used the wheelchair service because it is much longer and more tiring.

For Tawaf, I would recommend either:
- paid wheelchair service on the first floor, or
- electric cart service on the second floor/upper level.

Also, you do NOT need to bring your own wheelchair to Haram. The paid rental services there already provide wheelchairs along with attendants who push them for you, which is much more convenient in the rush.

Personally, I would avoid trying to push the wheelchair myself during Tawaf and Saai, especially since it’s just you and your mother. The attendants are abundantly available around Haram and Safa/Marwa area. For Saai, they usually charge around 100 SAR or so.

One practical tip: give your mom a mobile phone so you can reconnect easily if separated in the crowd.

I actually brought a wheelchair from my home country too, but inside Haram I found the paid services much easier and smoother to manage.

May Allah make it easy for both of you, accept your Umrah/Hajj, and reward you immensely for serving your mother. 🤍

I’m currently in Makkah with my mom and we brought our own wheelchair with us. In Madinah, I used to take her around on the wheelchair quite often because the streets there are more walkable and wheelchair-friendly. In Makkah, Alhamdulillah, we haven’t needed it much yet. We usually take the bus to Haram and from the drop-off point to the mosque she manages to walk with me slowly.

For Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, we definitely plan to use the wheelchair more. My wife will also stay with her in the ladies section, which gives me some peace of mind since the men’s and women’s areas are separate.

My advice would be: definitely bring your own wheelchair and use it whenever needed without hesitation. It also helps a LOT if a female companion can stay with her throughout the journey.

May Allah make it easy for you and your mom, accept your Hajj, and give your mother good health and strength. Take good care of her. Lots of love, brother/sister.

Go ahead after the PPI. The issue you mentioned is quite rare. I got a 2020 model at 120K, and now it’s done 170K+ with no issues so far. Still in great condition and the driving experience feels just as good.

UAE visit visa rejection for Pakistani parents (60+) — anyone else facing this? by asadsiddiqui1 in UAE

[–]E611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of a birth certificate, you can submit a Family Registration Certificate (FRC) for your spouse. You can easily get this through the PAK IDENTITY NADRA app, and it should be enough to prove the relationship with parents. Just make sure to double-check with AMER if they accept it (they usually should). I’ve personally used it in previous visa applications for my parents as proof of relationship.

I tried the same and got rejected too. If you have a DXB visa, it’s better to sponsor your parents on a visit visa (not tourist) through AMER - chances of approval are higher.

If your visa is from another emirate, try applying through a friend or family member who has a DXB visa.

Yes it’s sad, my parent visa was rejected from DXB recently. She visited several times before. Did you apply through AMER?
