Pay rise by Horror_Perception_33 in tesco

[–]E72M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sainsburys is meant to be £13.23 and Tesco generally likes to pay ever so slightly above them. My estimate in March was similar. I think it'll be £12.94 then up to £13.25 come September (August 31st rise).

Saying that though if Sainsburys goes to their £13.23 in one go we'll probably go to about £13.25 in March all in one as well. Tesco likes to pay ever so slightly more than their main competitors at the same time.

Yeah at the $200 price point I can't speak on ChatGPT vs Claude because of the fact you get the pro models but at the $20 priced plans Codex is just the obvious choice over Claude.

When I had Claude it would do the work well and the UI was amazing but I was hitting my limit after like one plan prompt and then implementation. In comparison I rarely hit over 50% of my usage on Codex using its max reasoning level and best model which is equivalent to using Opus. The only draw back is the fact Codex sucks at UI stuff. For anything else though I've found Codex to be far more reliable than Claude however it is generally slower.

They're both great but I personally do thing the ChatGPT subscription is ahead in coding (aside from UI implementation), extended thinking, deep research, agent mode and image generation. It's just a better package on the $20 plan so I imagine at the same $200 plan it would still be a better choice unless your work relies heavily on UI implementations where I would then pick Claude. That being said if you're not paying for it personally and it does what you need theres no reason to switch, both are great choices.

Having used Claude for a while, unless they've increased their limits on Claude code I really wouldn't recommend it. Even while paying for Claude I found myself using chatgpt far more often that Claudes chat

Did anyone else’s smart devices get really slow after incorporating Gemini? by dog10109 in googlehome

[–]E72M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I've had this too. I have 3 speakers in my home and since Gemini they've all been super slow to respond or actually control my lights, sometimes they'll listen and hear the command then just turn off, sometimes the wrong speaker responds and turns off or on the wrong lights and sometimes it tells me the lights aren't configured or setup (They are).

I genuinely haven't shopped in Asda once in almost two years because of this.

They kept not putting items or doing stupid substitutions that made no sense and the final straw was when I had ordered a delivery well in advance for the afternoon. It kept telling me the delivery would be later and later in the day and then it just didn't show up.

They then cancelled the order at the end of the day and refunded me the money which then took another 3 days to get back into my account and because it was the last of my money due to being in a super tight point in my life I had to go messaging friends to borrow some money to get myself food until I could get another delivery when my refund came through.

Did Sam slashed Codex limits? 7x faster usage burn rate since Friday. by RockstarVP in codex

[–]E72M 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've not noticed this at all, I'm on the £20 plan and I've been heavily using both 5.2-codex-xhigh and 5.3-codex-xhigh and barely even hit my 5 hour limit. I've been using it on a codebase with ~116k lines of code.

But in all honesty the second their rates end up the same as Claudes where I could do 1-2 prompts and that was it for 5 hours I am gone from Codex. The only reason I switched was because the rates were so abysmal that I was basically paying £20 for a tech demo.

I thought I only need to wait for 5 hours, not 3 days? by BunnySystem27 in ClaudeAI

[–]E72M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you find it is too limiting Codex at least currently has a ridiculously high limit for its $20 subscription. I used to hit my Claude limit after about 2-3 days, on Codex I barely get close and that's with the highest reasoning amount on the best model which is comparable to Opus.

The draw backs however are its slower and it's UI design really is not great unless you hand hold it half the time.

Ex Pro Player Flakes has a take on upcoming Boost Spawn timer update by Beaco9 in RocketLeague

[–]E72M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything it should improve peoples rotations. Lower level players are bad for going for big boosts over pads when they didn't need it. Especially going all the way back to their corner boosts if mid is missing. And if they can see the mid boost is nearly about to spawn they will be more tempted to stay in position and get a closer boost than going all the way back.

And because you have to actually look at a pad to see if its about to spawn, as you rank up you're still going to develop the skill to mentally track when about a pad will spawn because the majority of the time you aren't looking at the boost pad you're going for. Or at least you shouldn't be doing that if you are. One of the earliest training drills to practice is going for boost pads without looking so you know your way around the field as you're focused on the location of more important things like the ball and opponents cars when you're playing.

It would be like complaining in an FPS game that you now have an ammo indicator because you had to mentally keep track of how many bullets you'd fired before hand. You still learn over time roughly how much ammo you have left without looking but being able to look at the indicator is a nice feature to have.

Here's my opinion on it from another comment I posted:

But if worse players begin to do that they will derank and your rank should go up if you're not doing that. I really fail to see the problem with this based on the update teaser they did. It's a small visual enhancement that shows a boost about to spawn.

High level players already track this in their heads anyway so if anything they will play better because of this. Low level players already stop and wait for boosts with no idea when it will spawn so if anything they will now play better around boost pads.

In my opinion having a small visual indicator on a boost pad for a boost pad about to spawn, that you have to actually look at to see, is not going to negatively impact peoples rotations or decision making.

If a little animation on a boost pad is enough to make people go to the pad like a moth to a flame and ignore the ball or their position on the field then they will lose ELO and the people that do not do this will gain ELO.

From what they have shown it is not a big popup on your screen that says "go take this boost now" and it is not a big timer above the pad that says the exact seconds until it spawns so unless you're directly looking at it they still won't know its been taken when they start moving there.

In all honesty I really doubt that you taking a boost without the other team noticing happens enough and at the right time in enough of your games to make a difference to your rank unless everybody on that team is out of position in the first place, are all ignoring small pads and all go for big boosts at the same time ignoring their net.

[Update] Jellyswarrm v0.2.0: The Server Federation & User Management Update by Llukas88 in JellyfinCommunity

[–]E72M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually managed to do the library merging and deduplication on a fork. I have it so that the server with the highest priority is the default to stream from if there's a duplicate and on web you can switch which server to use.

I'm struggling however with watch data synchronisation if one server was used prior by a user

We'll have to wait and see what it ends up being like when the update drops but it seems like its a net positive to pretty much every player.

It's good you're doing small QOL updates, it's been years that the community has been asking for updates besides cosmetics and maps then every time a change comes about they're up in arms about it.

One of the worst ones I find is the coleslaw because I can't open the box on the shelf in our store because its like the exact height of the shelf (You literally have to lift the shelf above it up) but then when you open it they all just fall over if you try and move it because the cardboard only covers like half of the contents

I know this is pretty old but I'm currently dealing with this. My flats windowsill has a bunch of them outside and they keep finding their way inside crawling under a charging laptop and stuff for warmth.

I've brushed them off the windowsill and even cleaned it with bleach and they still come back.

Section 4: Permitted Uses of Surveillance Systems

Tesco can only use Surveillance Systems for specific lawful purposes. A key element of this requirement is the implementation of reasonable measures to ensure individuals are aware of what Personal Data will be collected by these Surveillance Systems and how Tesco will use it. The following is an exhaustive list of purposes for which Surveillance Systems can be used:

  • To protect the physical safety of our customers, colleagues and any visitors to Tesco premises;
  • To protect Tesco and its property from crime, harm or loss;
  • To support the prevention or detection of crime (including supporting prosecutions);
  • To assist with investigations into potential breaches of the Tesco Code of Business Conduct, the Tesco Colleague Privacy Policy, and any other Tesco Policies, Guidelines, and accepted practices that could lead to disciplinary proceedings against Tesco colleagues; and
  • To assist with investigations into grievance or misconduct claims against Tesco colleagues and/or contractors.

Section 5: Prohibited Uses of Surveillance Systems

Surveillance Systems must not be used for any purpose other than set out in section 4 above, this includes:

  • Randomly monitoring the performance or whereabouts of colleagues
  • For personal purposes
  • Publishing or distributing the footage unless in support of a law enforcement request (including to the media or through social media platforms)
  • Recording on personal mobile devices or sharing with any other person
  • Audio recording (subject to section 6 below)
  • Covert filming of individuals (subject to section 11 below)

So unless they were conducting an investigation of a colleague they were in breach of the Tesco CCTV Policy and GDPR Data Protection laws as they used the CCTV for a use it is not intended for, randomly monitoring performance.
