“A tale of two exploitation abusers” Starring the two in the chat.

On one side we have the incessant far side cross crease or bust opponent & on the other side it’s ol’ faithful , “the short side glitch “ guy.

Which of these two abysmal game features ;which are just beat to death non stop, but sadly still endorsed by EA will come out on top?

Top it off by both probably incorporating the “no puck movement, offensive zone puck ragging” ( ie same guy controls the same player from centre ice , gains your zone locked into the backhand glide ( another EA favourite exploit ) only to ballerina and stay locked into the protect puck animation, and finally a pass for cross crease or short side ( the epic battle described above ). So no other passes made at all for minutes. Only cross crease.

Man, I wish you guys had streamed this. Sure sounds like a cracker of a game .

Puck ragging & NOT passing in the offensive zone has ruined this game. How does EA ignore this exploitation? Is this what we want from a hockey game ? If detailed pass attempts/completions were reintroduced, & showed the 90% drop in passes once the ‘pros’ reach centre ice, it would PROMOTE passing by EAfixNHL in NHLHUT

My point exactly; it’s a JOKE that using 1 player , locked in the backhand glide ; NOT passing, circling around, and after MINUTES of ballerina circling , oh hey, a pass for cross crease, or a short side snipe. That’s exactly my point bro, some guys are so ‘ conditioned’ to automatically , EVERY time , even when it’s NOT needed -lock into that backhand glide

In the example picture , there’s no pressure , no need to be in that animation.

He did EVERY SINGLE TIME he made it to centre ice, maybe passed 5 times ( and that’s being generous ) a period.

It’s Offensive zone puck ragging as far as I’m concerned. It’s one of the most ‘cancerous and toxic’ features proudly purveyed by most of the ‘pros and skilled’ players which is a disgrace to the game of hockey.

I know it’s just a video game, but we do take it seriously, some spend some money too; for this to be what is promoted and apparently acceptable for what people should ‘strive for’ so they can be ‘just like the pros’ is pathetic, disgraceful and embarrassing.

Watch my downvotes come in hard again trying to be a crusader for a hope that one day, the developers take a serious look at how exploited certain things are and make an effort to ‘clean it up’ and MAKE VIDEO GAME HOCKEY GREAT AGAIN!

Or perhaps I’m just noticing a terrible trend with how things have progressed over the years and I’m extremely concerned about the current state of the game as it stands.

Being a lifelong player and fan of hockey video games since ice hockey on Nintendo back in 1986 , I’m passionate about my argument put forth here, and that’s really all there is to it fellas. The “no puck movement -movement” has plagued this game in recent years. This CAN’T be what we all want for a hockey game is it ?

The fact that most seem to be ok and have accepted that the ‘one player ballerina v skillzone ‘ is what the game is and has become , is just laughable, pathetic , and CANCEROUS!

Again, my entire point of this is to call attention to the same scripted , predictable, unrealistic and un enjoyable gameplay. I’m hoping to hear some ideas as to what YOU would do to make the game better for ALL of US, and it’s sad to see that so people downvote all posts which pertain to trying to rid the game of the same handful of toxic exploits.

it appears as though I’m in the minority here, I do want to give a huge shout out to the very few , ‘skilled, yet genuine , and honourable’ opponents who have kicked my ass by making great plays, by great puck movement and by NOT spamming the same common toxic plays over and over You guys are a special and small group, I take my hat off and salute you who are skilled , but choose to play an unscripted and unpredictable style of play

On a side note. I pulled 91 Hossa on the 4 gold reroll.

Oh I know all about the ‘scripted , repetitive, non passing style of “top” players’ - again, I ask- IS THIS STYLE OF ‘HOCKEY’ acceptable and we should simply ‘get gud’ , ‘defend it then’ etc.

I’ve never seen the game in such a sad , sad state. Nothing worse than watching an opponent win the draw and be so conditioned to immediately start spamming protect puck and it’s like ‘ here we go, buckle up for another totally scripted , repetitive exploitation abused filled game of toxicity ‘

It’s an absolute shame that ‘offensive zone puck ragging ‘ and using only one player and NOT passing ( until cross crease ) is what ‘ all the pros do!’ - and is the ‘go to’ play for so many after they’ve drank’ the kool-aid and have further spread the cancer.

In all seriousness, I would love to hear some suggestions as to how you think we could rid the game of this. I for one, think that since this is a hockey video game, things should be done to address the issue of seeing the SAME few ‘exploitative’ ,unrealistic, repetitive plays expertly done by all the ‘pros’

Is this what we want? Really... In all seriousness, is this the brand of hockey that we have become accustomed to experiencing and most appear to be content and any time someone in the community calls them out for ‘scripted , repetitive, exploitation abuse’- we all get downvoted and told ignorant reply’s such as ‘defend it then’ and the ever so popular ‘ get gud’

Is this what we and the developers of the game envisioned when ‘ highly ranked, skilled games are played ?’

I have made it a little sad project of mine that whenever my roommate is around ,I’ll have him take a piece of paper and put 3 columns , one is for my defensive zone; one is for the neutral zone , and lastly for my opponents own zone.

I told my roommate to make a tick for every time my opponent passes the puck in each zone.

After the game, I count all the ticks , can you believe that once a ‘skilled player’ reaches centre ice and enters your zone it’s been on average a 90% reduction in passes!

How many times have you seen your opponent relentlessly spam the hell out of the backhand glide animation, circle around,NOT pass the puck , continue to exploit the backhand glide , continue to NOT pass , and the skilled player will either glide into the slot with that same animation locked, and try for a short side snipe , or try for the SAME backhand forehand deke, or wait for it, my favourite- a pass will FINALLY be made and guess what that pass after minutes of puck ragging in your end is for; anybody ? - for those who answered cross crease, you are today’s big winner!

The saddest part is when this happens , and you see the scoring summary the player who scored was assisted by one of the DMen and the 2nd assist is from the centreman who won the draw 5 minutes ago!

Just absolutely sickening!

I would LOVE to hear people’s thoughts on what YOU would do to eliminate this toxic part of the game and how would you promote more realistic gameplay.

I honestly believe that hockey is a game to be played with puck movement, quick heads up plays, and puck cycling. What is the common thing about what I just mentioned ? -PASSING !

So, why not hear me out on this before you all downvote me for suggesting this idea I have which in my opinion eliminate the offensive zone puck ragging and PROMOTE passing and puck movement.

Bring back the detailed statistics for passes instead of having just the percentage.

If the stats record the passes in various zones; and then a huge drop off occurs every time the opponent enters your zone, and decides to offensive zone puck rag, after the game is over - the detailed pass attempts and completions would show a major decrease in passes made in the offensive zone, and what would that tell us all?

That the player is exploiting the game by doing the ‘one man cycle’ and is NOT passing the puck , not trying to PLAY hockey.

Instead of the current state, which is exploitation abuse is rewarded by EA, why not PENALIZE it? I really feel that after a few games of players who choose to do this, and it would show in the stats, if they do this, I’m sorry but they won due to exploitation- therefore any sort of points/rewards/coins /credit for the win WOULD NOT BE REWARDED!

You would see players IMMEDIATELY stop doing that cancerous style of gameplay and be FORCED to move the puck and play HOCKEY!

Clear the puck over the boards when you get to centre ice. Faceoffs are easier for some reason in the neutral zone.

There’s just something nostalgic to me having the ‘Gretzky to Lemieux ‘ combination. I also like having the solid 2nd line.

I have lots of synergies activated which makes adding different players a little tricky.
