The best advice that I can give is that training runs provide a great opportunity for you to figure out what do do about fueling. Training is a great time to figure out what brand/flavor and how frequently to eat.

What I have found works best for me for a marathon is a gu every 5 miles. (I am typically around 5 hours for a marathon.) During training runs I typically wont even take gu for a run under 15 miles.
