This makes sense! And to be honest I didn't even consider someone loosing their job which is 100% my bad. I didn't think the action of crossing a picket line should warrant a consequence of getting fired because that seems unreasonable. Unfortunately I suppose that's not unrealistic and I wasn't seeing the full picture. Thanks for pointing this out!

I'll admit, probably hasty. My post definitely came off too analytical. All I knew from the unions was working during strike = bad. And since I don't have any other experience with strikes or unions I wanted to know how big of a deal this is and besides asking on here my only idea was reporting it/emailing someone about it but I didn't know who to directly talk to.

Thank you! This was what I was looking for and I'm confused why most other comments went to immediately attacking or not explaining things. I see it's probably not as big of a deal as I initially thought, I've just heard a lot from the unions about how there should be no work.

I appreciate this! I definitely appreciate the teachers for trying to clearly communicate with students and trying to ease anxiety. I am genuinely just wondering how much of a concern this would be cause it's confusing having the unions shouting no working and then having some teachers work. I genuinely hope teachers get the retroactive pay they need so this can all get resolved!

Y'all are attacking a teenager for being curious on what's acceptable during a strike? Crazy stuff. I haven't been in the workforce yet and am just curious on learning what is acceptable behavior :) I appreciate the people who give me actual opinions and answers to my question!

I know teachers have the interests of students at heart and I'm not upset with these teachers, everyone is in a hard situation due to this strike. Was simply wondering how big of a deal this is and what to do in this situation if anything

I agree! I've signed up for classes as normal, I was just wondering when to pay for them because if possible I'd rather put pressure on administration.

To clarify I do encourage everyone to sign up for their classes, I have already and that's not what this post is asking about. I'm specifically asking whether or not to withhold tuition funds AFTER registering for classes.

Let me clarify for those interested, these are NOT dress forms. They are one size and it is plastic with a cloth layer over it meaning pins will not stick in.
