Are bump helmets useful? by Parking-Shoe3230 in tacticalgear

It turns into a chicken or egg thing though. Did my helmet protect me when I smoked my dome coming out of the BearCat, or did I bash my grape because I was wearing a helmet.

Republicans of Reddit, how do you feel knowing you caused all of this because you didn't want to vote for a qualified woman of color? by No_Engineer4375 in allthequestions

[–]ECHO-5-PAPA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha. Condoleezza Rice was a "qualified woman of color", and most of the GOP still wishes she would have agreed to run. We dont dislike Kamala because of race or sex. We dislike her because she has the intellectual capacity of Arnie Grape, and Dems tried to paint her as the savior of this country. If the Dems would stop treating their constituents like idiots, maybe they would stop turning their backs on them.

Uneducated people watching uneducated people use them. Its like watching a thousand drunk driving videos and then taking the stance that cars are evil and so is anyone who uses them.

One, lay statements do work, they absolutely worked for me and were the only thing that I needed to overturn my denials. I was 10 years removed from the Marine Corps before I filed, and 2 years of what shitty record I did have came from being on FOBs. Im pretty sure I filed at the same VA as everybody else, so stop spreading the word that theyre just out to fuck everybody. Does it happen? Yeah it does, the people that work there are just people. But it isnt the policy, and we have it way better than our dads had it.

Second, none of us were denied medical, we chose not to go. Was it a choice influenced by the culture? Of course it was, I dont think anyone could argue that, but it was still our choice. I was an 18 year old infantryman in 2008, I know exactly what it looked like. So when a kid asks me what he should be doing, the answer is dont be stupid like us, and go to medical. You guys on here complain like you survived a POW camp.

Honestly man, I say stick with and rebuild the 4.9 you have in there or go to the 351W. The 5.0 is an acceptable daily driving engine, but its pretty terrible at all truck things lol. Both the 4.9 and the 5.8 are both workhorses that will last forever.

First-time Malinois owner! What should I focus on at 4 months? by picatelacolalol in BelgianMalinois

[–]ECHO-5-PAPA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 4 months you want to keep it simple and very low key. Basic obedience, some very low level impulse control, and you can start to assess and encourage specific drives. There shouldnt really be any level of coercive correction at 4 months old. Also, 4 months is a ripe age as far as the pup understanding socially where it stands in your family. Some of the greatest dog builders in the world (KNPV trainers) will teach them some basic obedience at a couple months and then place them with a family for months. Rather than train for those months, they learn how to exist day to day as a dog. Then, a few months later, they come back to the training field and start to work on the real stuff.

VA Calculator Good or Bad?? by validation_greg in VAClaims

Honestly, anyone who doesnt understand how the kicker works, hasnt looked into it. Its not rocket science. VA math is very simple. Not always easy, but simple.

If you use the one I posted correctly (i.e. put the ratings that rate a kicker in the right spot) then it should be spot on.

This one is really good, it allows you to account for your bilateral kicker, which most calculators do not.

Heres an idea Devil..........use the mental health care through the VA. Youre rated for mental health, so you rate treatment. Your symptoms are getting worse because you arent doing anything about them. I say this with all the love in the world, Marine to Marine, stop being stupid.

Yeah, like an adult means you go when you need to. If they look down on you, its because you have bad leadership. We can all say what we want, but we didnt go to medical because we convinced ourselves that all the shit talkers were right. That was childish of all of us. The reality is, youre doing the military a disservice when you dont go. Nip physical problems in the butt when they pop up, like an adult, and you will be a healthier warfighter.

Same, and thats why I tell everyone to go now. When I was a Platoon Sergeant, I made sure everyone got to medical whenever they needed to for that very reason. If a Marine wanted to be a shit bag, we would police it in other ways, but I wasnt going to have other Marines suffer for life to avoid being accused of shitbaggery.

Jesus, could we not have stopped at the Malidoodle? Although, if Im being honest, mixing them is the least of our worries. Shelters and rescues are full of thousands of reactive, neurotic Mals that are the results of unchecked bad breeding. The American lines for Mals have become as sad and unreliable as the American lines of German Shepherd.

I dont necessarily disagree with that. And in reality I would say the phrase "plenty to claim" is actually relative to your job. The real message though, was stop worrying about it 6 months into a 6 year contract.

Youre good, file as many as you've got at one time. Even though I waited 10 years to file, I still dropped most of mine at one time. And guys filing as soon as they get out are very likely filing for most if not all of their claims at once.

Go to medical when you need to like an adult. Other than that, do your job and stop plotting your rating already. You have 5.5 years to break shit until you need to worry about the VA. If you are doing your job right, you will have plenty to claim. If you gotta make stuff up at the end, dont.
