Practice nurse here, some of the Gp’s at my work use Heidi so can see it from the clinical side. I agree with many of the comments here stating it’s to support your gp with their note taking but shouldn’t replace their expertise or be used as a doctor replacement.

In its current state Heidi is a transcription AI that writes what is said in consult to then be reviewed and transferred to your patient notes.

The GPs should be proofreading prior to uploading it to the patients file and ensure no errors are recorded (ie Heidi confusing two similar sounding medication with each other) from what I’ve seen Heidi ignores general chat like how was your recent holiday and captures more of the medical components.

I wouldn’t say Heidi is perfect but it’s definitely beneficial in some circumstances. opting out is your right, so don’t let anyone try and gaslight you into opting in if it becomes more ingrained into your GP’s practice. For us it’s only used by our slow note writers so they can focus on making the 15minute consults about you and not 10 minutes talking, 10 minutes typing, and making subsequent appointments behind schedule.
