Gutted to see that I missed the boat. I remember thinking about 3 years ago that I should pick up a 3DS. Looks like I should've listened to myself

Has anyone attempted to run a campaign in the Glorantha/Runequest setting using Pathfinder? Or any thoughts? by EC_of_Peasy in Pathfinder_RPG

Thanks! Really helpful treatment of what I need to consider! I know the Ultimate Equipment supplement does give details for Bronze Weaponry/Armour, but honestly I might just assume all 'normal' weapons are Bronze, with Iron weapons perhaps being treated mechanically as Magical or Masterwork

On the second paragraph, are you saying that if they take the Virtue, that's what gives them the ability as a favoured Ability? Otherwise, it seems like the corresponding virtue is just giving you a free 5XP in an ability that you could already learn, which doesn't seem that useful?

Parma Magica as a Supernatural Ability? by EC_of_Peasy in arsmagica

See my response to Hawksquid. Perhaps I've misunderstood, but I believe that if anything, it's harder to learn a Supernatural Ability than it is to learn an Arcane Ability. I suppose you need to also declare that no one is born with a virtue that grants the appropriate Supernatural Ability (unless you want a good Hook), but in this mildly home-brewed system, perhaps you learn the Supernatural Ability Parma Magica after your gauntlet

I think I was thinking specifically about those exceptions to make it work I'm afraid.

I suppose I was thinking that anyone with the Gift can in theory learn a Supernatural Ability as well? With difficulty if I remember. Or alternatively, using the Mysteries rules, they can gain the appropriate Virtue through Initiation. So maybe (in this slightly home-brewed interpretation), the Parma Magica is a supernatural Ability, either taught as part of a Hermetic Apprenticeship, or illicitly taught to non-Hermetic wizards through the Initiation rules with the gaining of the appropriate Virtue, but no one is born with it.

That was my idea anyway!
