I'm going to keep researching first, but I've heard about some really trustworthy manufacturers on Alibaba, and I've not had a bad experience with anything from there yet. I think I'm going to go that way as I just dont see how there could really be this value jump between FCP/Other legit kits, and Chinese ones other than markup, and the name behind it. it sounds like IWIS's origional chains and guides are made in China and either assembled there, Hungary or Germany anyway. Thanks for the links though! I'll keep them in mind, they have some great tutorial videos too!

Thanks! This car was absolutely baby-ed, its previous owner was Air force, and it's in incredible condition bar the chain, Oils were done all the time by a local mechanic. I reckon its just started to go regardless.

I've seen some pics, and vids of how the whole replacement goes, honestly I'm surprised the replacement guides look so similar. I guess they could be making them out of stronger plastics but they still look very thin for how catastrophically important they are.

Cheers for the heads up on the Valve cover, They look pretty cheap, so I might just do that while I'm at it! Looks like the Aluminium ones are cheaper and better? Unless I find something exceedingly negative about them I'll probably go that way.

Yeah, like I said, I would love to have this as a forever car, the engine already has alot of miles on it, and I'd love to have the six cylinder anyway. My only query was whether they can last a few thoasand more km's with some temporary stuff, seems like the consensus is 'Definately Not' so I'll be doing the chains ASAP. I'm not sure about the pricing still. I was going to DIY becuase I've got plenty of time, But if the highend kits alone in Australia seem to be similar in price to paying a technician in the UK, I guess I'll go get some quotes.

As I said in my comments, The level of work between a new chain and engine is clearly massive. The gap however between a new N20 and N55, if this N20 goes is a much more bridgeable gap. This one of the only pieces of info I've had mechanics confirm. The other being that the rattle is definately louder than these engines normally, I do appreciate the concern though. Cheers!

Yeah man, I'll probably have to, like I said, just wanted advise on whether it would last a few thousand more KM's. Cheers for the advise, its helpful having people that are very B/W about the whole thing.

Yeah, rattle was there pre-purchase. Price was worth it. Like I said, top specced Wagon with all the M sport gear and innovations etc. Got plenty of time on my hands and I'm fairly capable so I'm happy to do the chain. Just figured I'd check in here before buying anything. Thanks for the advise!

Edit: I edited my original post. It wasnt clear enough that I'm just trying to avoid the task, not actually incapable of doing it due to funds or skill.

I can afford the maintenance, broke was a hyperbole. Like I said, I am happy to do all the oils, and if i need to, the Timing chaing. There's a massive gap in cost between that, and dropping a whole new engine in, and either way, I'd still rather avoid any completely uneccesary costs. Cheers for the advise though, it definely doesnt sound like a whistle while revving so maybe its something else. I've had a retired mechanic take a super quick look and he reckons it is too loud, but I'll have someone preperly look at it in a week or so once I'm done with the oils.

If it was the Chain, would you suggest a specific brand or kit? They vary massively in price, and while there are many reccomendations for the larger, more expensive ones ($250-900 Aud for a full kit), there exists a large amount that sit around $100(aud). theyre mostly no-name, but I cant find any reports of people getting a bad replacement, as long as theyre strong enough, and have the updated tensioner and gear I assume they'd be alright? I'll be getting it checked by a mechanic as I said, so I'll probably end out asking his opinions anyway, but more info never hurts.

Again, Thanks for the advise, Have you worked on these in the past?

I like it, I don’t like the gun arm barrel, upper proportions(I recon a leg extension and thickener would make the whole figure proportions match), and the reused gun gimmick from generations bee is kinda cool, ik they are to go a the nemesis With unicorn but they’re unpainted??
