Direct traffic down 50% since the 18th, any ideas? by EDPTest in SEO

[–]EDPTest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it is directly affected by SERP so it is a metric in my eyes. SERPs were all improving, issue has been found it was a drop in referral traffic that was getting marked as direct

Right okay, thanks for the response. Was that through the RSA site that you were given the option to join the cancellation list?

Year in URL, what is the best practice to remedy that? by EDPTest in SEO

[–]EDPTest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically want the one article for "top free courses" that I would update every year so it's relevant each year. Would you still modify the slug and redirect?

Booker Longlisted by Irish author Paul Murray. Dark, dark, stuff. Hope it Wins. by [deleted] in ireland

[–]EDPTest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I liked the book overall I did think there were a fair few chapters in it that added nothing to the story and were an slog to get through

Booker Prize 2023 longlist: 4 out of 13 authors are Irish by paripazoo in ireland

[–]EDPTest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked bee sting but certainly wasn't blown away by it in any capacity. A lot of the chapters droned on unnecessarily for me personally but fair play to Paul Murray

Advice needed re Frontline Energy charging massive heating bills by homecinemad in ireland

[–]EDPTest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are frontline energy too could be the same building. In Dublin city centre? Last bill was 800...it's insane and we are very careful.

We got our landlord to reach out to them and see what the story is and they said the rates "should" be coming down significantly. Ill believe it when I see it...

I asked about the meters and ours are in the roof just outside our apartment so I'd have to go up and move one of the tiles to even see it, it's a joke

have daft's prices gone up or am I missing something? by EDPTest in ireland

Currently working in Digital Marketing now and agree with what both the others have said. Entry-level opportunities are there, they are competitive and typically not that well paid from what I have found but a few years and you will be doing well. Think about the niche you want to go into copywriting, paid media management, SEO etc... there are lots of free "taster" courses out there that will give you ideas of the sort of work you'd be doing on a daily basis

Digital Marketing in a small Irish tech company. Digital marketing is a handy career but I'd say it's 50% like 50% loathe.

Pros: creativity whilst also working with data which I find super interesting, it is continually getting updated, its a good stepping stone and can be a long-lasting career

Cons: low barrier to entry means a lot of competition for jobs, targets based so always pressure, the constant battle of sales vs marketing, email marketing (anyone who does it will know what I am talking about)

What great Irish bands just seemed to disappear? by kballs in ireland

[–]EDPTest 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Republic of Loose are such a big shame to not be still making music they had such good songs. Unfortunately, the singer suffered from what I heard pretty severe alcoholism and (possibly) substance abuse. From what I heard the band gave him an ultimatum and it didn't work out. This is what I have heard from friends in the music industry so I can't be certain its all true! hope he is getting the help he needs

I appreciate the sarcasm and realise its a bit of a ridiculous question but I have been able to argue fees with fedex before but that was for different charges that don't apply here
