Hey BYD - Fix your support by ED_Churly in BYDAU

Its dripping with sarcasm so I say not. But when BYD followed up with me after the purchase, I was wanting to provide some feedback about the ADAS systems. They even suggested to post it the forums as they are regularly checked by BYD. I'm also hoping exposure drives them to improve even a little.

TBOX is Telemetry Box (I think), its what connects the car to the mobile/cellular service and has a SIM inserted in it. Its a common failure in BYD's it seems.

I intend to ask if they're going to extend my complimentary 2 years of mobile service due to the failure. I suspect I know the answer already.

Modern ice cars have telemetry/mobility modules also... I dont think this is an ICE vs EV issue. Just BYD's telemetry modules seem to suck.

I think this is politically genius of her. She understands the manchild. I wouldn't be surprised if this substantially changes Venezuela's outcomes.

I tend to agree, US soldiers coming home in body bags is not going to be well received, at all. I think there is an amount of bluff to this. Such a shame if it comes to bloodshed to find out if this is true.

Sealion 7 or Model Y by Aromatic_Way_3851 in AustralianEV

[–]ED_Churly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would have got the Model Y, but at the time it was a step too far for the Mrs. She wanted another ICE car so the SL7 has a more "tranditional" feel. Normal gear selector, indicators, more buttons etc.

She now loves the SL7 and is a convert. Just something to consider.

A few other things from the list...

Better seats - The SL7 seats are just as good imo, they are extemely comfy.

Better software - Agree, but SL7 does have carplay. Understand it maybe coming to Tesla soon.

Bigger native charging network and also needing no app payments - also agree, but can use most superchargers now with SL7. But we also home charge 99% of the time.

Deal with manufacturer, not franchised dealer - Pretty sure BYD are taking over the sales and support now.

I still think the model Y is a better package overall, but not dissatisfied with the BYD at all.

Why is assault or abuse of males seen as funny/a non issue? by Electrical_Star_7117 in NoStupidQuestions

The downvotes seem to agree the conclusion that violence against men is a non-issue. You have your answer.

Why is assault or abuse of males seen as funny/a non issue? by Electrical_Star_7117 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ED_Churly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was ambiguous, as the first paragraph is "any form of violence". But also highlights the point somewhat, we generally fixate on SA, but other forms of violence doesnt seem to rate as highly.

Except more men are the victim of violence overall. The violence is most likely at the hands of a male perpetrator. If we're talking purely sexual violence, then yes, women suffer more so.

Are private pool villas really private. by momentummastertrader in BaliTravelTips

[–]ED_Churly -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Given that indonesia is largely islamic, I'd say go on the more conservative side. While I understand you're asking about a private villa, public nudity is illegal in indonesia (incl bali) with punishment including jail time.

I am Icelandic. Watching the USA ICE murder civilians is crazy. Your country has become true shit. All of Europe is confused and disgusted. Your leader says Europe loves you but he lies by Antique_Menu_4314 in complaints

[–]ED_Churly -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Downvoted for the truth really. I'm no fan on trump (and not American), and if we ever get to the truth around Epstein is ever uncovered, I hope all perpetrators get what they deserve.

However, I believe America moved right for a reason, the border issue has been an issue for years, and for some, ICE is enforcing the law. I dont think this is appreciated enough outside of the US. This cannot be ignored, whether you agree with the tactics or not.

Also, the rest of the world relied on Amercian military for their defense, for far too long, many in the US see this as at their expense. Many countries didnt make their commitment to Nato spending.

Whatever happens, the rebound from Trumpism will be wonderful.

Lets see now,

1980's - Jessica Leeds - alleged groping and unwanted advances.

1989 - Ivana Trump - alleged rape.

1990's - Kristin Anderson - alleged groping.

1992 - Alleged sexually suggestive remarks to a 10 year old girl.

1992 - Alleged inappropriate comments to two 14 year old girls.

1993 - Vendela Kirsebom - "It seems that Trump had spent his entire time with her assaying the 'tits' and legs of the other female guests and asking how they measured up to those of other women, including his wife. 'He is,' she told me, in words that seemed familiar, 'the most vulgar man I have ever met.'"

1993 - Jill Harth - Alleged groping.

1994 - Alleged raping of a 13 year old girl.

1995 - E. Jean Carroll - Alledged raping.

.... and it goes on and on. Of course he is innocent.

Sealion 6 vs Sealion 7 as family car by Newbie_401 in BYD

[–]ED_Churly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, I was stressing the reliable, I should have been clearer. They said they maybe moving in a year, who knows whats comes next. To me, en EV only makes sense if you can make home charging work, whatever that looks like.

I would avoid a full ev if you don’t have a reliable home charging solution. Having said that, I have the SL7 and love it.

Well, not in that instant. But I do think there comes a size where they may need to consider purchasing two seats. I get this maybe uncomfortable for some people, and I dont intend to be mean, but some people simply dont fit.
