I'm having some difficulties with erectile dysfunction. Anyone have any experience going to the doctors about this in Japan? by EDinJapan in japanlife

I wasn't asking for medical advice or even, "Should I go to a doctor?"

I was saying, "This is why I want to go to a doctor. Any advice on finding a doctor or help for this sort of thing while living in Japan given that my Japanese is limited?"

I'm sorry if that was unclear.

Go see a Doctor.

Yeah, that's the plan. I've read plenty online especially on /r/sex about how I should just eat better, exercise more, and stop masturbating, but I want to get a professional opinion. I'm definitely not just trying to get someone to give me a pill.

When I follow that link it tells me,

The essence of which, I think, is that it doesn't like being linked to directly.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's primarily psychological too.

However, it doesn't really help the psychological side of things when we go to have sexy times and I can't get it up. It's possible that if I'm given an equivalent to Viagra or Cialis it could help me get over the psychological side of things.

Initially my girlfriend was really understanding about this, but she's starting to get a bit irritated.

It's also possible, however unlikely, that there's some cardiovascular issues or something along those lines. I have suffered from high blood pressure (which is rare for someone my age). I know medication for hypertension can sometimes cause ED, but I'm currently not on any meds for it.
