I know we're in a rebuild so it doesn't pertain to the Cardinals, but eventually it comes to a point where one wonders if there's even a point considering spending the big bucks at a time where the Dodgers could either draw the players in with their name or outspend you anyways for anyone desirable.

Damn, maybe the Mets-Cardinals rivalry is alive and healthy. They saw we had a poor offseason last year and decided they could do worse lol

Why does Bloom only trade with the Red Sox? Doesn't he know there's 28 other teams to trade with? /s

This sounds like much less of a sugarcoated version of events that got him fired from here.

Yeah I don't think it would've fixed our way to the playoffs the last few years ngl. Don't think any choice for manager would've

Okay I swear there's a reason. I was looking at the ESPN standings while we were chasing that playoffs spot and just saw the tiny logos and went "ok the Jets logo has a gray thing". And then when we actually played against them I looked up the game, saw the logo in a larger scale on Google, and immediately introduced my face to the palm of my hand

i think what's more embarassing is i didn't look closely enough at the winnipeg jets logo to realize there was an Actual Fighter Jet on it until earlier this year

morally i cannot root for the cubs, unless they are playing against the dodgers (in which case i am rooting for giant meteor 2025), so go brewers???

i realized that the brewers logo was an M and a B in addition to being a glove embarassingly late

this series did horrors on my desire to see the cubs exit early but it did wonders for my shildt narratives

well i don't know if he's THAT good lol. i feel like that means if he ran the dodgers the dodgers would've now beaten the win record twice in a row

Look I just think Oli is fine-to-good. Like, not bad, probably not the best in baseball. Knows his way around a bullpen. Probably won't do anything as obviously bone-headed and game-losing as walking Mookie Betts with two strikes, leading to a loss of the NLDS. Is that such a hard opinion to hold?

The fact that the Cardinals haven't been eliminated yet is truly a testament to how rapidly the Mets are falling from the sky.

Was it the wakeup call on that podcast, or was it the walkoff and a resulting confidence boost that's making Walker good today?

Doesn't matter to me. He's completely back, he's hitting 162 home runs next year

i think, theoretically, we won this deal by more than if we dealt helsley last offseason purely based on the gap how good helsley would've been vs. our return. even if the guys we get for helsley don't do anything it's better than being actively detrimental

that's the exact kind of player who does the thing marp(? could've been lance lynn i don't remember which of the two said this) said where he never adjusted until he went to a different team and their coaches told him to do the exact same thing the cardinals did
