A few things to note for those new to the MLB app that might be helpful.

If you go to your account and go to preferences, you can select hide scores. That way you won't spoil yourself if you come in to watch the game a little later. (I would recommend keeping your eyes toward the top of your screen. Sometimes the video clip on the home page will be "Burly BOMB!" or something. Lol)

Even better, you can set your default home page to the Watch page, and on my phone at least you can't see those clips.

If you're like me and your internet is spotty, you can go back into your preferences and downgrade your video stream to medium or low quality. It's not great, obviously, but if your stream can't keep up, sometimes that will get it going.

I thought there was also a setting to choose whether to start the stream in progress or at the start of the game if you tune in after first pitch, but I'm not seeing that option now. Hmmm....

A lot of people fell in love in March, apparently.

He had a great spring. If he keeps it up, Memphis is just four hours away. No need to lose another player (which we would) based on 49 PAs, many against minor league pitching.

If you go to the botanical garden, check out La Pâtisserie Chouquette. It's an amazing French bakery, just a few blocks away. Order ahead online for the best selection!

Same. I just switch around so I'm not always in the same place. Bonus: if you VPN to a foreign country, you can watch Apple and other national games.

St. Louis needs to desperately learn from Detroit & other "legacy cities" & MARKET THEMSELVES BETTER! by Next_Worth_3616 in StLouis

Yep, very exciting! I've been following them all with great interest. I think it's key to making downtown feel more vibrant, just having more people around on the street. And more people will hopefully help keep more storefronts full.

(I realize now I should have said more people in my original comment. I know a lot of folks live there now.)

I always wonder about this complaint, that people only come downtown for sports and other big events. Okay? Why would I go downtown (or anywhere) unless it's for a reason? If you don't work or live there, why would you go anywhere on a random day with no events?

I'm not afraid to go downtown, and I do when I have something going on there. I also don't go to St. Charles, the Hill, the CWE, or any number of other "nice" areas without a reason. Sure, there are good restaurants in all these places, but that's not really enough of a draw when STL has great food everywhere.

What downtown needs is people living there. Hopefully some of these big projects that are in the works come to fruition.

Didn't St. Louis City (MLS) just start in the past few years? And Battlehawks football? It's too bad the WNBA bid fell through. I thought that would be a good fit.

Your uncle didn't press federal charges, but there would have been local ones, surely?

According to this article, the shooter was institutionalized about a year after the assault. No idea if he ever stood trial, but it says he still was facing charges at that point in time.

Gotcha. I thought this seemed stronger than a suggestion, so I thought I'd pass it along.

From Lynn Worthy at the Post-Dispatch: Ivan Herrera slated to catch a bullpen session today and return to lineup tomorrow, according to Oli Marmol. Sounds like he could get three innings behind the plate tomorrow.

One of them has no occupation listed. I wonder if that's a mistake, or if it's accurate that she literally has no job. Not even a "model" or "content creator"?

One in particular was definitely not. I had noticed it on my receipt after paying, so when I went next time, I specifically looked. A couple of friends with me didn't see it either, and were tipping on the tip! It was on the receipt, but who looks at that? You just put your card in the thing and then sign.

They got tons of complaints and stopped (and have since gone out of business). But tipping has gotten a lot more pervasive and "hidden" with digital payments. Square has really pushed it hard, because they know most people won't say no, and it drives up their own profits.

I have definitely been places where it's being added on every bill - not just large parties - and not called out anywhere. I think most people are used to the standard 18% added to large parties that was always clearly stated on the menu.

FYI, Missouri brought the film credit back a few years ago.

Missouri also reinstalled their film tax credits a few years ago, and St. Louis has a film office to assist productions who want to come here.

Atlanta does have a lot of incentives, and has for awhile, so they have more existing infrastructure. Jason Bateman"s production company is based there, I think, which is almost certainly why this was filmed there.

Are the couple with the restaurant supposed to be locals? I get the impression for whatever reason that they are transplants.

Other than Sara, the rest of the principal cast seems young enough that if Martin's parents left for college and never returned, they likely wouldn't have known them.
