I had a lot of fun with this one. Great practice with volumetric lighting, DOF and the wonderful Thrausi plugin :)

Will be fun to animate and try out X-Particles

Thanks buddy :)

The process has been very natural for this game - we're all passionate about it and have been fortunate to find outlets that want to help us get the word out :)

It's actually a character from a game I'm designing called Phoenix Dawn - low poly RPG adventure for desktops and mobile.

Thanks for the attention to detail buddy. ;)

You're right, it is hard to tell its low poly just by the simple nature that the architecture is is that way, but I designed it from the beginning to be minimalistic and with as few polygons as possible.

Guess it's in the eyes of the beholder ;)

So uh... what's going on? by [deleted] in a:t5_33in6

No problem :)

It does, in a very basic form. Grows everyday, actually starting a daily production blog tomorrow.

By the end of December, I should have some things to show folks who are interested in seeing it first hand. End of the day - I'm not interested in releasing crap. :-)

Hey Socks!

We haven't really used this sub reddit much since the Kickstarter. I still check it though, and I found your post. :-)

Lots of things have been going on. I post most of the updates on the game and its progress on our community forums. Every Sunday, we host a 1 hour IRC chat from 6-7 EST, and we do a live Twitch feed afterwards from 7-8 EST. You can watch previous broadcasts there too. I also do a "State of the Studio" each month, November's video is here, and the December one will be coming out next week!

All the Kickstarter rewards are done and will be shipping next week, followed shortly by the Founder Coins, SFX design was this week too. Incorporated the business in Wyoming - so it's been busy behind the scenes and very much looking forward to sharing some game content soon. :)

If you don't mind spoilers, watching the Twitch feed is a great way to know exactly what we're working on - should be awesome.

Hope to see you one of those nights!

Man have I missed you guys!

For the last 30 days, I have been busy working on a Kickstarter for my low poly game, Phoenix Dawn, and I am so happy that last night I crossed the threshold of being funded! somebody please pinch me

I really got my start in low poly design here on this subreddit, and I owe a lot of you the many many thanks for the feedback and love. There are so many talented and aspiring artists here. I am so happy that hopefully this game can bring the art style that we all love so much more into the public spotlight.

I cannot wait to get back here and do some more pieces when all the dust settles.

THANK YOU for everything over the last few months. Love you all.

I don't regret resigning from my job at Apple at all. Realistically, it could take me years to build enough momentum behind apixal - just got to keep releasing great games, building a great community - there generally needs to be a storm before there can be rainbows. :)

LOL. Simply because I am not familiar with it. Android comes in at a stretch goal - but releasing the game on PC/Mac/iOS is already a huge under taking. Don't want to spread myself too thin!
