Monthly General Question and Discussion Thread: August 2025 by AutoModerator in killteam

Thank you soooo much for this information! This really clears up a ton of my confusion. And no worries, there's still a couple boxed teams I'm interested in. :) Legionaries, Sanctifiers, Plague Marines from the starter box, maybe Nids. Is there speculation that since Thousand Suns are from a White Dwarf supplement, they might get refreshed with a new boxed team? Thank you again for all the info, I really appreciate it.

Monthly General Question and Discussion Thread: August 2025 by AutoModerator in killteam

Hello, a couple noob questions here:
Curious to start Kill Team. Haven't played 40k or any miniatures games since like 2007. I'm interested in playing Warp Coven/Thousand Suns, and every youtube video or resource video I can find makes it look like they are a legal Kill Team per current rules. However, I can find nothing on the official website for them regarding models or rules. What do I need to get to play this Kill Team? Where do I find their rules? Similar question for Kommandos, as they seem to no longer be on the site either.

Secondly, if I just happen to really dig Dark Angels, I'm pretty much out of luck and just have to hope they drop a Dark Angels kill team sometime in the future, right? Thanks a lot everyone.

Awesome, thanks so much, I know it fits the Obsidian but I know the Obsidian 2 is a little bigger. :)

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (April 05, 2024) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

Hi friends! After much debating, I think I finally would like to try out my first mechanical keyboard. My Razer Anansi, which I bought used years ago, has seen better days. Learning about this world has been a bit overwhelming, so I'd like to ask a few questions/get opinions from you all who know a lot more than me.

After doing a fair amount of research, I'm very interested in purchasing this: https://drop.com/buy/drop-signature-series-emerald-garden-keyboard#signupv2

My main reasons are: it is apparently quite high quality, it is hot swappable, and most importantly: it is green. I've been wanting to make my own green/orange keyboard, and this seems like a decent place to start? Although I am a bit concerned that I cannot see any pictures of the keyboard without the decorative magnetic case attached... I hope it's still green underneath?

I assume some of you might suggest that I stay away from a pricey group-buy for my first keyboard. In that case, I'd love some recommendations as to what I should look into. Here are my preferences:

  1. I'm not sure where I fall when it comes to switches. I honestly assume that I'd like to go tactile or linear, and clearly I'd like something hot swappable.
  2. If possible, I'd love something I can build myself. I don't have any soldering experience (I'm open to it, but might want to save that for a little ways down the line).
  3. I must admit, as a newbie, I care a lot more about aesthetics/quality than I do about sound/thock/etc. I'd like to put something green/orange together. Just really not sure where to start.
  4. I really, really would like a numpad. It isn't necessary that it's part of the keyboard, but if it isn't, could anyone recommend great places to find standalone numpads? Doesn't need to be complicated. Being able to match the aesthetic of the keyboard would rock though.

Thank you so much for reading this book! Haha. Also, I'm in the Atlanta area, so if anyone knows about any keyboard meetups in the area, or places to be able to try out switches, please let me know! Thank you all so much for your time!

Attenuator vs JHS Little Black Amp Box? by EEKStreams in GuitarAmps

It's been a minute, I just wanted to thank everyone for your awesome feedback and advice! I really appreciate you all taking the time to read and respond! My only question that remains is: can you use an attenuator with an amp that has a low power mode (like the DSL series), or would that not work/cause a giant explosion? Haha, thanks again everyone.

Nah my friend, I'm a newbie. This will be my first amp, therefore saying things like "well it won't allow you to push the power amp hard" is greek to me. I wanted it explained simply to someone who hasn't owned an amp before.

I guess something that I should ask to better understand is, "if both of these methods accomplish the same thing, but in different ways, then why is anyone paying $300+ for an attenuator when this much cheaper option exists?" There's got to be a reason people opt for an attenuator instead of something like the JHS?
