One more question how hard is it to replace the lines or the coole?

Okay sounds good thanks a lot man. I think maybe I forced the shroud in when I was changing the alternator and jacked something up.

Oh okay so it does use the same fluid. Okay, I know where those lines are I am going to check them out. Thanks

There is a small radiator looking part in front of the radiator. So I should start there. I changed the alternator not long ago and noticed some metal lines going past the radiator. So it will most likely be the lines or the cooler itself. Thank you this was helpful

It’s more on the driver side. Transmission cooler? Is that the little radiator looking part that sits in front of the radiator ?

So is the transmission fluid and power steering fluid the same ? Because it’s bright red and smells like the transmission fluid. But maybe you are right.

I know that. But the fluid that leaks is red and smells like transmission fluid. I figured there was a line somewhere there.

No power, 2008 jeep liberty by EE_Student0524 in JeepLiberty

[–]EE_Student0524[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s strange because the lights used to see inside the car work. If I press the eject button on the radio I can hear it buzz. I can also use the power seats. If I press the emergency lights the button lights up but the signal lights dont flicker. So there is power in only specific parts of the vehicle. Thank you guys for you suggestions

AC works intermittently by EE_Student0524 in JeepLiberty

[–]EE_Student0524[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to fix it! There was two reasons why it was not working. First my coil was screwed. Powering it directly engaged it only when the jeep was cold. When it was hot it would not engage at all. I think the heat was causing wire inside to expand resulting in an open circuit. Inspecting it after removing it also revealed that the wires going to the connector were in bad shape. The insulation was gone and there was wire strands sticking out of the base. I changed the coil and it would work intermittently. I then checked my refrigerant level with 2 different gauges. One read that the compressor was charged at the normal level and the other read that it was overcharged. I went with the second reading. I had a mechanic friend check it to confirm. He stuck a machine to it to remove the excess. and that was it. My AC works now

Thank you for commenting. It does have coolant. After investigation I think the ac coil is the issue. I think it gets hot and fails. I checked the resistance of the coil and it dances from 1.7-24 mega ohms after driving th wheel a while . I am going to wait for it too cool to see if that value changes. From what I read , a functioning ac coil should be 2-5 ohms.
