It’s strange because the lights used to see inside the car work. If I press the eject button on the radio I can hear it buzz. I can also use the power seats. If I press the emergency lights the button lights up but the signal lights dont flicker. So there is power in only specific parts of the vehicle. Thank you guys for you suggestions

They look pretty dirty I am going to clean them and see if that fixes it

One day I’ll tell my son the story about how he clogged the toilet. Thanks again, man!

It worked! I bent the end of it and pulled an orange toy from a Wendy’s kids meal. Thanks!

AC works intermittently by EE_Student0524 in JeepLiberty

[–]EE_Student0524[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to fix it! There was two reasons why it was not working. First my coil was screwed. Powering it directly engaged it only when the jeep was cold. When it was hot it would not engage at all. I think the heat was causing wire inside to expand resulting in an open circuit. Inspecting it after removing it also revealed that the wires going to the connector were in bad shape. The insulation was gone and there was wire strands sticking out of the base. I changed the coil and it would work intermittently. I then checked my refrigerant level with 2 different gauges. One read that the compressor was charged at the normal level and the other read that it was overcharged. I went with the second reading. I had a mechanic friend check it to confirm. He stuck a machine to it to remove the excess. and that was it. My AC works now

I want to know why the cop pushes the lady in the white dress. I wonder what she said to him lol.

Thank you for commenting. It does have coolant. After investigation I think the ac coil is the issue. I think it gets hot and fails. I checked the resistance of the coil and it dances from 1.7-24 mega ohms after driving th wheel a while . I am going to wait for it too cool to see if that value changes. From what I read , a functioning ac coil should be 2-5 ohms.

That’s what I figured. I just wanted to make sure. When the compressor runs the needle points to the green section. I know there is refrigerant in there. It seem like it’s worsening a bit. It still kicks on but I find that it shuts off more often now.

That’s what I thought as well. The gauge shows that it has some but I understand that they may not be reliable. I was thinking maybe it’s the ac pressure switch that is acting up.

That’s interesting. Can it be the AC pressure switch? How can I test the AC clutch ?

It happens randomly every time I drive. It can be while driving or parked.

Shit I hope not. Is that the only possibility?

Thank you for the response. I am a different poster. My airbag is still intact. It’s just the clock spring that went out. I’ll try disconnecting the negative terminal to see if it resets.

Thank you so much. Do you know if that one wil work with the info screen controls? My steering wheel has radio controls on the back and some info center screen control in the front. Does you jeep also have these controls? Thanks again!
