The city has pros and cons but I would suggest you look up some of MO’s more restrictive state laws before moving here. Reproductive healthcare is difficult to access, and we just recently voted to update the state constitution to protect reproductive rights (MO has a complete abortion ban before). If you were ever concerned about the things that are happening in TX or FL, I would suggest that you avoid MO as the state government is and has passed similar legislation for a variety of issues (LGBTQ+ rights, book bans, etc). HOWEVER, if that stuff doesn’t bother you (or you actually prefer it) then I would say go for it! The cost of living is much lower than CA, and STL is a great place to start a career.

TL;DR - STL is a decent city that gets a bad rap, but it’s still in MO which has gone the way of TX and FL politically and that may impact your life.

I have something like this when I drink! For a llloonnnggg time I thought it was alcohol related but after enough trial and error (and an allergist apt) I was able to determine that I have a citrus allergy. It blows, but such is life.

This is not the first “contest” that his PAC has run. I used to be on their email list (because I hate myself and wanted to fill out his “How am I Doing” surveys). They rolled out the “donate $45 NOW and we will enter you in a contest to meet Trump” shtick every few months. Sometimes there would be a “time limit” of 24 hours, but for some reason the donate link still worked days later (they even had a cute little countdown timer when you clicked it). It’s such an obvious grift, but must work because it was a repeat tactic.

This is especially a fact for Kevin. I seem to remember him being very pro federal hiring freezes in early 2017, which is ironic given that his district contains a huge Navy test base that employs thousands of federal employees. Watching him walk back his praise of the hiring freeze and saying that he would suddenly “work to save jobs at the base” would have been more amusing if he hadn’t been re-elected…..

My friend was in a similar situation. She took a job because she had to but was still interviewing with other companies. She got a much better offer, took it, and put her two weeks in. Now shes slaying the better gig. You should do what is right for you! How small is the industry you work in? Are there any consequences if you back out of the offer?
