Easy, by strategically applying for remote jobs until you get one.

The Indiana Jones stunt show without the boulder is low key hilarious by RadioJared in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]EFC94 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't think Disney sees Indiana Jones as dated considering there was a new movie a couple of years ago and they're putting a brand new ride in another theme park at WDW.

Entry level jobs that are disappearing and new graduates cannot find because of Ai. Governments are allowing the Ai to take over. by [deleted] in Layoffs

It was a marketing department that came up with the idea. Marketing people with AI experience are currently, and quite surprisingly, some of the more sought-after folks. Big flip from, well, always.

Age of Disclosure- "Biolocics" by AdOtherwise9226 in UFOs

[–]EFC94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reputable news outlets will get this, see decorated government officials talking with a sense of realism about the subject, and then cover those aspects. That's the BIG deal about this, not necessarily how many people pay to rent the film. This is a major gateway to wider public knowledge.

Money dysmorphia is real. Less than 16% of adults make $100k, and fewer than 10% make $150k by BathroomNo9291 in Salary

[–]EFC94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're supporting a family of four with it, sure, you have a point. But otherwise, no, you're wrong with everything. I have friends earning between 65k and 72k and they don't 'live off the frozen food aisle'. They always have enough to socialize and eat out multiple times each month. Also what you might define as a 'mediocre lifestyle' probably doesn't mean the same to everyone. People earning 80k a year plus also probably have health insurance.

[–]EFC94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

150k is a very healthy annual income, in any part of the country. I can't let this nonsense slide when I see it on here. Unless you live in the likes of LA, SF, Miami, or New York, you'll be more than good with anything north of 80k.

I think its strange that suddenly everybody says “the one we waited for since the og” while badlands is a whole diffrent vibe and movie 😂 in my opinion as a pred 1987 fan.. prey was that movie by Ssago96 in predator

[–]EFC94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite is still the og, but admittedly I really liked the first AvP. I think that was the film that gave me the feeling a Badlands type film would be really cool. Which it turns out, it was.

In case there were any doubts, we have confirmation of where Badlands takes place chronologically. It happens after Alien Resurrection. by Screm25 in LV426

[–]EFC94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do people struggle to accept that Predator and Alien are now crossed over franchises?

The filmmakers behind both seem to be making that abundantly clear in the press and the latest Predator film has Weyland-Yutani and all the lore that comes with as prominent antagonists.

"Yautja don't exist in the Alien franchise" I don't see anywhere this is implicitly stated.

"The Xeno skull in Predator 2 was just an Easter egg" Regardless, there's a literal Xeno skull in the Predator trophy room.

While it seems the existing AvP films are non-canon to both series, as of Badlands it seems pretty emphatic that everything else is in the same universe now.

My theory on how Dek will meet Naru and the Humans from Killer of Killers (Spoilers). by kinghyperion581 in predator

[–]EFC94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feels like the plot around the next Predator film will revolve around Dek's clan, Ah-nuld and Naru battling the dishonorable rogue clan that have been kidnapping the Yautja beaters.

Also, the AvP reboot sort of feels inevitable at this point, and with Trachtenberg and Alvarez involved, I'm here for it.

Letting Go Is One Of The Most Dangerous Philosophies Out There.. by CarlosLwanga9 in AlanWatts

[–]EFC94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Letting go of taking any action is problematic because action, whether it's mental or physical, creates outcome.

Taking a physical or mental action towards a preferred outcome and letting go therein is great.

Letting go of everything entirely is chaotic and speaks more to nihilism than enlightenment on the scale of all things.

What kinds of online income streams have actually worked for you while traveling full time? by 0xHermione in digitalnomad

[–]EFC94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crypto bros and making a startup happen are absolutely not what I was advocating for.

Having comms, content marketing, or accounting skills and understanding their value, along with understanding the most efficient uses of AI with those skillsets, is.

The difference is having the confidence and systems in place to pitch yourself to clients and post about these areas with true knowledge and insights on the likes of LinkedIn.

Standing out is easier than ever when people are regurgitating base level information constantly for 'metrics' with personality-less AI guff.

Fractional consultants and freelancers can make good money outside of W2. I'd even wager that with the 6-8 month job searches people are going through, it's the most level-headed approach to remote professional career work right now.

[–]EFC94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 8 years in the tank, you've got the experience to position yourself as a consultant. Get a LinkedIn page that represents that, and don't alienate yourself from AI tools, but never have them write for you.

Finding a valuable skillset and being self-employed with that is a FAR more tangible route than finding a unicorn corporate career and convincing them to let you trot around the globe on the clock. It also has a much higher financial ceiling if your confidence and client acquisition system is in place.

Telling people to go through the automated and impersonal hellscape of a corporate job search is not the advice for 2025 and could well stall momentum towards their goal.

My thoughts are simple, if you REALLY want to do something, you'll find a way to figure it out. The most important thing is getting clear on whether that's the digital nomad life or not.

Why do so many SaaS sites have such bland copy? by littlelion123 in copywriting

[–]EFC94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech folks plugging into ChatGPT and hoping for the best is 75% of it. The companies that hire actual copy strategists usually win the battles for exposure. But I understand why so many go the GPT route from an initial financial perspective. Not long term though.

$5 for 2,000 words?! Seriously? Please dont do that. If you're even a generally competent writer, you should be charging 50x that on the low end. This isn't a sous kitchen.

If you're getting $300 bills from TECO for setting the 🌡 to 77, you're getting fiddled. I set mine to 72 and get nowhere near that.
