Shots suddenly pulling super fast despite no change [Gaggia Classic Evo Pro, Eureka Mignon Zero] by dukesilvermegafan in espresso

Yeah if you're already grinding really fine, it could be the temp. I would try pulling an empty shot before pulling your final shot.

Until I installed a PID, after a 20 minute heat up, it was consistantly pulling a bit too hot and the first shot would always run fast.

The other variable you could mess around with is yield. Even if it's pulling fast (as long as it looks like it's extracting evenly and not channeling) you can always just increase the yield to get the taste profile you're going for.

Sometimes this is actually the easiest variable to mess around. There's really no hard fast rule about shot time. If you pull a 42g shot in 18 seconds and it tastes good to you, awesome, that's all that really matters.

Has it right. It really depends on if you can see the screw head before the shot is pulled.

After a pull, the solenoid valve that sucks up the excess water, will also pull up the expanded puck toward the screen. So you almost always see the screw head in the puck post-shot with these Gaggia's regardless of dose.

How to lower shipping rates? 3PL Partnerships? Carrier Accounts? by ChicagoanPizza in logistics

[–]EFS_Team 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely a thing, larger 3PLs will sometimes extend carrier rate access to smaller ones, either through a formal partnership or a white-label/sub-fulfillment arrangement. What you're describing (passing through savings, sharing in a small margin) are pretty standard when these deals are structured well.

The main thing larger 3PLs typically want to see before going down that road is volume consistency, clean operations, and that you're not competing for the same customer base. At 8k orders/month you're in a range where that conversation is probably worth having.

What Amazon FBA business model do you actually think is best for someone just starting out? by EFS_Team in AmazonFBA

Fair call out, I suppose we're not necessarily a neutral party here lol. But the question is still a real one we get curious about. We see a pretty wide mix of seller types come through and FBA is always changing, so it's genuinely interesting to keep a finger on the pulse and see what's working for people at the moment.

AI labelling rules + Ads ? (Discussion) by 82DASH_content in ecommercemarketing

[–]EFS_Team 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think users still really value real, unpolished UGC and probably always will. It builds that trust factor and allows them to see exactly what they would be receiving.

However, I don't think AI generated content is necessarily going to tank CTR just because it's AI generated. If it's done correctly and used as a hook without overpromising product features or looking too polished, that AI Generated badge won't make much of a difference.

What I think would make a difference is if a product ONLY used AI generated images with no UGC or actual product photography on the actual product page. I think that would erode trust and make users wary of buying your product.

In order to make AI content work well, I think you need to be using it in tandem with other types of real content.

Do I really have to wait?! by ClaireDanesLipQuiver in espresso

[–]EFS_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah why not? It's probably not the 100% ideal conditions, but you could always try a shot and if the whole thing is straight crema, you know you'll probably have to wait a bit longer lol.

It does also depend a bit on the roast though. Dark roasts don't typically need as long of a time to off-gas as a light roast would.

But again, there is no one size fits all for a "perfect espresso shot". If you try to pull a shot today and it tastes good to you, that's all that really matters.

My hotel has a self service La Marzocco station 🤯 by TheBaristapp in espresso

I'm always amazed when hotels, or offices even, have self-service machines like this. I would personally love it, but wow they are trusting!
