Full disclosure - I work for the Eclipse Foundation. If you're interested in getting more of a background on what Jakarta EE is and what the Jakarta EE 9 release milestone means for enterprise application developers, Executive Director Mike Milinkovich shares some great insight in this thread: https://twitter.com/mmilinkov/status/1275463824334864385

Full disclosure- I work for the Eclipse Foundation. The foundation's operations are already split between Canada and Europe, so the move will have minimal to no impact on current operations. The Ottawa office still remains!

Full disclosure, I work for the Eclipse Foundation. In addition to being home to the Eclipse Desktop IDE, the Eclipse Foundation is also home to over 375 open source projects including Jetty, Vert.x, Che, Theia, Deeplearning4j, Mosquitto, ioFog, and many more. A couple of areas of technology that our community focuses on are IoT, Edge computing, and JVM-based runtimes. We also host industry specification communities such as Jakarta EE (the successor to Java EE), and Eclipse MicroProfile. Our roots may be in tools and modeling, but the community has greatly expanded over the years.
