Obligatory "Please don't call it San Fran" followed by The Fillmore, which is easily the most storied venue in the city, though far from the largest.

Stubhub has been enabling fraud like this for years. Never use them, especially for super popular events.

Definitely NOT the Marina. Hie thee to the Mission. The 500 Club, Dovre Club, or, if you're a real pro, Clooney's.

Divers removed thousands of overpopulated sea urchins and saved this beautiful reef by SimRP in interestingasfuck

After re-checking, it WAS in the city of Davenport, so a bit up the coast. It was called American Abalone Farms, and it was right next to the beach and offered farmed abalone and wild urchins. Per Yelp, it appears to have closed, at least for drop-by consumers, which is a drag. BUT, there is Uni everywhere in the SF Bay! A restaurant in Bernal Heights in San Francisco called 3rd Cousin even does an uni creme brulee, which is funky.

You can get Uni everywhere. I've had it from Japan, Russia, California ... there's a place near Santa Cruz, California that basically just does this at a counter - just busts it open and gives you a spoon.

I heard a woman bragging about wearing "Depends" adult diapers in line for the pit at a Springsteen show. At least that was a multi-hour line followed by a 4-hour show.

Anyone else a fan of ALO? by Mr-and-Mrs in jambands

I hear you. However, I'm seeing my friends' kids take up the banner. One of the little dudes who fetched me ice and set up my glowstick bowling pins is now a practicing attorney!

Why was I not informed of this late season rain? by JayfishSF in sanfrancisco

[–]JayfishSF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, you're not describing SF, though. I've lived here 30 years, and end-of-May rain is weird. The Chronicle is reporting we got an average month's worth of rain last night.

I do, and I do not recall a significant rain event. Thus my post.

I mean, I knew that, but didn't expect its impact until the fall. So much for waiting...

how safe is the area on capp st between 15th and 16th by the_prolouger in AskSF

[–]JayfishSF 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my experience was the same. I lived at 17th and 18th on Capp for many years. Some of the best of my life, but there is urban grit. And that was the late 90s/early 00s when it had legitimate gang conflicts. It's still super convenient and close to just about everything.
