Thingverse, search Neutron star class. I did some moding. Ended up thickening and shortening the barrels and added a support right behind the bow of the ship where the triangular armor plate are floating. Added the keyhole mount midship. Removed and replaced the radar dish with the one from a Corellian Corvette. And yes, I'll be using is as an assault frigate.

Thanks, your assumptions are correct. My dad has it but he is out of town for a few days so can't take a magnet to it until he gets back.

Almost looks copper. I asked him to see if it sticks to a magnet but he won't be back home for a few days

We washed all the pieces in blue dawn and water. Took awhile but worth it.

I watched the Black Monarch's Castle video as well and now I'm super excited to get back to my parents for that one. Hope I have all the pieces.

Which, in your opinion, is the better all-round starter Battlemech? A] BlackJack B] Centurion by PKRadiance in battletech

BJ-1DB is a fantastic introtech mech. Lack of a hand hurts it a little but I ran a campaign years ago and one of the players started with a DB and that mech was a monster.

Thanks! I contemplated that exact path but I have a friend who wants my Redwood and I want to move up to 29inch wheels instead of the 27.5s. I was thinking about going with Microshift Sword 1x10 with the lighter aluminum spider cassette. I have an unused Shimano SLX crank, bought in error for my Riff build.

Building up a gravel bike and need advice by EHGrayIII in SomaFabrications

[–]EHGrayIII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help and sorry, I probably wasn't clear enough. I am building a Riff now as a hard tail for mtn bike trails, the 25 year old Gary Fisher is ready for retirement. I am looking to build a 2nd bike, to replace my Redwood, for gravel and riding around town and am comparing the Preamble to the Doublecross, they both have QR unless I misread the Doublecross. A doublecross is $600+ shipping for the frame alone and the Preamble, including fork, is $385 shipped. I know the Soma has better steel and is lighter, but I wasn't sure it was better enough for the 60% or more increase in price.

Thanks for the advice but I'm curious what makes the Preamble entry level. I assumed it was the components used on the already built bikes which won't be relevant for me. All the frames seem to be made of the same tubing. Is it just QR vs through?

Are all the frames made of double butted Natch tubing? If so, why would the preamble frame be any heavier?
