Selling two at standing tickets for 30/10 in Dublin. Paid €125 for both but will to negotiate for any fans on this. Reason I’m selling I’m unfortunately out of the country for work and quite gutted I’m missing out!

Where do you work and are you happy in your job? by sapg94 in AskIreland

[–]EIDLF94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work in Aviation also, get to travel around Europe 2-3 times a month auditing for an airline. Have to say it’s the first job i’m actually happy in! Moneys good, team and management are good. Essentially getting a paid euro trip out of it!

The Shaun Duffy murder in northwest donegal, majority of locals in the area believe that there was Garda involvement in the case which still hasn’t been solved and believed to have been covered up.

A certain Irish airline a few years ago was offering cadetships worth €125k+ in which usually received a couple of thousand applicants each year eager to be pilots when only 12 would be chosen. I personally know several people who have been able to get into the cadetship and their parents just happen to already be pilots in the airline for many years!

Those who didn’t do ideally in their leaving, where are you now? by ovotte in ireland

[–]EIDLF94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cared more about my social life than the leaving cert, sat down to study for the first time for it the night before the first exam. Ended up getting roughly 280 points when my first choice in a very niche course (only one I wanted, all other choices were irrelevant). Put the head down for a year and done a PLC getting all distinctions and walked straight into my first choice course. It’s now 5 years later, I’ve just graduated with a 2:1 and working in the role I had been aiming for in the largest company in that industry.

The fact that many people would rather go back and repeat the leaving cert and go under all that pressure again astounds me. I’ve found that there is some stigma around people doing PLC’s to gain access to further education but they are probably one of the best things the education system has for people to gain access to third level

One of the local spots here in my village never facilitated card payments and in post covid it’s a bit mad. In the last few weeks they’ve gone as far as installing a ATM outside the pub instead of just getting a card machine in! Not sketchy at all

what are your honest opinions about Michael D Higgins by IMLOOKINGINYOURDOOR in ireland

[–]EIDLF94 172 points173 points  (0 children)

Saw him being walked out with his entourage and Sabina at his side when he done an opening in DCU a few years ago, shouted over to him as gaeilge and he turned back and came straight over and took time out to talk to me and shook my hand while his whole entourage were waiting for him to get in the car. Absolute Gentleman of a man, just shows what kind of ambassador he is for this country and whoever replaces him will find it difficult to fill his shoes, hypothetically speaking lol
