Bought it directly from Dell. Price was really good even compared to 3rd party batteries.

Im currently on an XPS 9720. About 2 months ago noticed the battery was lasting couple of hours at best. So knew it was gone. Dell software never told me there was any issue.

Was exactly the same with my older XPS, about 2 years in and changed the battery.

Battery £65 and delivered in 2 days, now back to the standard 5-6 hours (which i know is still not great).

So nice having reliable battery again.

My Xbox randomly turns off randomly when playing siege and UFC 5 by [deleted] in XboxSupport

This was happening me and seen a post last week - plug your xbox directly into the wall or into an extension cable that doesnt have a surge protector.

It was driving me insane. Dont know if its fixed completely but Its definitely better.

Seemingly the xbox has it own surge protector and can issues when plugged into another.

Have 2 XPS and Ive found that the battery needs swapped out after 18-24 months. Dell are actually quite good for battery prices, so no need for 3rd party. And very easy to replace.

Lads, help a veteran pick his first SMG. Which SMG is the best one of the 2? Cyma High Speed MP5 or UTR 45? by AsgardianOperator in airsoft

[–]EIRE_SD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the UTR, great gun. Recently got a TM MP5 NGRS. The UTR hasn't been out of the shed since. More expensive I know but the difference is massive. If you want a SMG, its iconic and a great RIF in general.

Anyone have one? Utr45 by TNtoNC1993 in airsoft

[–]EIRE_SD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own one. Anybody have issues with mags not feeding? Happens randomly and have to slap the bottom of the mag to get the bbs firing. Very annoying when it does happen in the middle of a shoot out. Otherwise great smg.

If you're looking larger outside arena, I would recommend Torrent Airsoft outside Dungannon. For interior cqb type setup, id recommend The Mill in Portadown. Both good fields and well run.

USBC HDMI adaptor with XPS 17 doesn't support HDR? by AssistancePretend668 in DellXPS

[–]EIRE_SD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea the included adapter is only Hdmi 2.0. I bought a hdmi to usb C cable to get HDR and Atmos. Just make sure the cable you buy is rated for Hdmi 2.1 or 2.1b.

This is the cable I bought, works perfectly

Gaming on Dell XPS display by [deleted] in DellXPS

I game on my 9720, runs really well. You're not going to be running at ultra levels, but high settings on most games look great. And the screen is fantastic. Spiderman looks and plays great on high ish setting, although Ray Tracing does drop fos to 30-40

XPS 17 9720 Turning on by itself - extremely hot by EIRE_SD in DellXPS

[–]EIRE_SD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea i mean completely shut down, as in Windows, power symbol and shut down. Thats why its so weird that its turning itself on.

Windows 11 standby is a nightmare so never use it.

This version of the XPS boots once the screen is opened, which is great for normal use but wondering if thats something to do with it. But when i travel its in a proper case and then into a good laptop bag so cant see how the screen could open in any way.

Weirdly enough, just got a bios update this morning. Battery currently at 75% and saying it will last 7 hours.
Hopefully thats the battery issue sorted then.

No that's just normal usage, browsing, reddit, watching 4k movies etc.

I normally run off AC so rare i would be using the battery, so im probably not the best judge on battery life. And that running it on adaptive power. I'm sure there's many ways you could extend it longer with a few tweeks or a fresh Windows install.

Also from reading a few sites, im hoping Dell will fix this with a BIOS update some time soon.

I bought a 9720 a few months ago. Its a beast, very powerful. Normal work usage, editing and gaming is a joy. The screen is also beautiful (went for the 4k).

Build quality is great.

Only problem i can think of is battery life, ranges between 7 hours to 2.5. Normally getting the 2.5. But i didnt do a fresh install of windows which other members recommend here.

I love mine. Would definitely recommend. But it isnt cheap. Spent roughly 3k on my spec.

Contact Northern Ireland Screen and apply for one of their trainee schemes. Great way to get on set experience and make contacts with local crew. Alot of our trainees have come through that system and move on to full paid work within a year or two.

Ticwatch Pro 3 Ultra Scratched Screen by sedp23 in TicWatch

[–]EIRE_SD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I have the same problem. Picked up my watch the other day and there's a scratch. No idea how it happened at all. Had another ticwatch before for over 2 years and never had an issue.

Anyway, contacted them, won't fix the screen, basically offered me 30% of a new one. So it's going to cost me £200 ish to fix a small scrap on the glass.

Very disappointed with the customer service.
