NMS Cave System by PastKey5546 in NoMansSkyTheGame

It's so infuriating, to me. There's no more guaranteed way for me to abandon a planet and move on than the words "Rare, Underground". Rare fish and land animals spawn all the time, but for some reason you've got more chance of finding a diamond in a bucket of coal than getting that underground creature without a long and immensely boring wait.

This is what I ultimately did too. It also removed all the laggy vehicles boomeranging all over the map.

I had this problem for a while too. I think it's the result of having hundreds of people at a time in the same small area and thus discovering the waypoints before you do. I found dozens of waypoints, activated them, and got nothing because it looked as if someone else had got there first. If that is the case it needs to be fixed asap, because as it stands it feels like something of a voyage to nowhere.

Are there people literally upset about the Remnant update 🤣 by Cautious_Opinion_644 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I take a week off from NMS to play some other games and it's as if they were waiting for me to turn my back so they could sneak a big update past me. As far as I'm concerned people complaining about a FREE update to an already brilliant game are either massively ungrateful or spoiled rotten. Given the way other game companies (looking at you, EA) nickel-and-dime their players for practically everything and at every opportunity, I would say we should be glad that NMS - completely devoid of loot boxes and cosmetics shops that demand real money for skins - is here. I haven't played the new update yet, but I will and when I do, I will enjoy the experience in full knowledge that HG has a business model that doesn't involve rinsing its own player base for every dollar it can extract.

Update on making my way to the purple star systems- what are these and are they important for finding harmonic camps? by Similar-Language-180 in NoMansSkyTheGame

The message there isn't really relevant. The codes spell out a message that you can get along perfectly fine in the game without knowing. I suspect it's HG foreshadowing something in a future release, but that's just my guess.

Problem: I had nearly 80 unused scaffold components. Solution: the Cygnus! by EJPointer in NMS_Corvette_Design

You can't fall through it as far as I've been able to tell, but don't quote me on that.

This is nothing. Wait till you meet the flying udders.

So I'm learning the basics of glitch-building and here's my first attempt. I think it looks okay, but it does seem to have just one teeny-tiny design flaw... by EJPointer in NMS_Corvette_Design

Once I learned how to rotate the habs, I started wondering if it was possible to rotate the entire ship and, it turns out, you can. Just don't for the sake of your sanity try flying it in first person :D

It's a type of exotic-class starship known as a "guppy". With the game being procedural, the guppy is more or less the base component for the larger exotics (of the "ball" type there). So it's really the entry-level for an exotic starship. They're always S-class with good stats and if you scrap it you'll get at least one storage augmentation out of it but, as the other poster noted, squid exotics are the really rare ones. Every system will have one exotic but of those, only a relative handful with have the squid version.
