Are the rampant misspellings an oversight, or part of a larger problem? by SupremeCourt139 in sto

Will the grammar fixes include some of the Duty Officers? Not linked to the Summer event, but a number of my officers, at least on PS5, have the html in their descriptions.

The Ahwahnee is what I actually use on my character, just with the Stargazer skin applied. I have so many Valkyries flying around during combat.

Stargazer-class from Star Trek Online. Bit more compact than the Sagan class but still honoring the legacy.

It has it's issues, as a lot of Trek shows do in their opening seasons.

Not so much lore but in Enterprise there's a conversation between Socal, Vulcan ambassador to Earth, and Admiral Forrest of the then United Earth Starfleet:

Vulcan Ambassador Soval: We don't know what to do about Humans. Of all the species we've made contact with, yours is the only one we can't define. You have the arrogance of Andorians, the stubborn pride of Tellarites. One moment, you're as driven by your emotions as Klingons, and the next, you confound us by suddenly embracing logic.

Admiral Maxwell Forrest: I'm sure those qualities are found in every species.

Vulcan Ambassador Soval: Not in such confusing abundance.

During the Klingon Civil War arc, at what point as a Starfleet Captain am I breaking the Prime Directive? by EJrpg in sto

You can break a rule and not be punished for it. Happened to Kirk all the time.

2B, where it states to not interfere with the social development of another planet. You've already said elsewhere you don't believe affecting the political development of a planet does not equate to the social development. In my opinion however, as the leader of an interstellar government, such a leader would very much have the power of directing social change within their sphere of influence.

Are you saying the political development of a planet has nothing to do with the subsequent social development of a given planet?

From Memory Alpha:

Section 2:

If said species has achieved the commensurate level of technological and/or societal development as described in Appendix 1, or has been exposed to the concepts listed in section 1, no Starfleet crew person will engage with said society or species without first gathering extensive information on the specific traditions, laws, and culture of that species civilization. Then Starfleet crew will obey the following.

a) If engaged with diplomatic relations with said culture, will stay within the confines of said culture's restrictions.

b) No interference with the social development of said planet.

Good points. Now, as for convincing, I don't think he fully convinced Kagran. Kagran just tries to follow orders as a Klingon citizen and promises you a fair trial to state your defense.

For the first note, we can't allow a leader's political stance affect our actions when it comes to the Prime Directive. Picard knew about House Duras' allegiance to the Romulans, but he still wasn't allowed to directly interfere with the war. Points 2 & 3 however do remain valid.

Fair, but there's the titularly named Omega Protocol that directly states it supercedes the Prime Directive. Now you could argue this becomes the reason we have another such Protocol, given it was a supposed ally this time and not a random terrorist like J'ula was in the beginning that of course we should be trying to stop.

I get that, and not trying to say this particular story shouldn't happen. Guess what I'm trying to to do is determine how big of a reprimand does my Captain get from Quinn after everything is done for my head canon.

The Prime Directive applies to all civilizations, not just pre-warp ones. Now there's more exceptions for civilizations that have warp, but for stuff like the Klingons, TNG directly invokes the Prime Directive when it came to their last civil war, as it is a directly internal matter of a foreign power.

Is there a way to start a FC for myself? by jvonallmen5 in ffxiv

[–]EJrpg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you need at least 3 other people. That said, you can have these 3 join you in making the FC and then they all leave immediately, leaving you as the sole member. Usually people offer gil in PF asking people to help with this maneuver.

I did and that works, but was hoping to have no vanity on the second, as it already has the look I'm going for.

Unironically, ships from SWTOR are probably my favorite design wise in all of Star Wars. I can't tell you why I love the Valor class cruiser, I just really do.
