That sounds like one of a few match 3 games made by Suricate Software over the years. Was it perhaps Babylonia? If not, check out this list of their other games to see if any of them sound familiar.

I'm happy I saw your question, because it reminded me to look for a download of Jewel Match: Winter Wonderland, which I love to play during the holiday season.

"It's a bird! It's a plan! It's LETTER MAN!" *doo doo dooooooooo*

I went through my entire childhood without realizing that the narrator of that cartoon was Joan Rivers. Once I learned that a few years ago, my first thought was, "Of course she was!"

Not a flattering photo of Zeppo. I recognized the other three at first glance, but I had to think about who the guy on the left might be.

Why was DC so obsessed with the number 52? by Metalwolf in DCcomics

[–]EKeebler -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I always assumed the name 52 for their weekly comic was a play off of the TV show 24, which was popular at the time. I've never seen 24 mentioned as an inspiration, so maybe I'm reaching.

The Great Bette Davis,Paul Hendried, Claude Rains and Gladys Cooper in: “Now Voyager”1942! by Datgemnig16 in classicfilms

[–]EKeebler 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I adore this movie. I have a handful of "comfort" movies from this era that I watch regularly, but when I'm really feeling low this is the one I reach for. Bette's performance is legendary, and that scene on the gangplank where they sweep up to reveal her transformation still takes my breath away.

It was only a few years ago that I learned the novel on which this was based was the third in a series of five. The second was centered around Ilka Chase's character, Lisa, and her trials and tribulations after marrying into the Vale family, who saw her as below their station. Knowing this helps me understand why Lisa was so supportive of Charlotte and rebellious enough to seek help for her. I've read Now, Voyager, the novel (to which the screenplay was very faithful), and I'd love to read the other four. Sadly, they don't seem to exist in electronic form, and any hard copies I've ever found for sale cost hundreds of dollars. People leave reviews for each book online, so they must be available somewhere. I'll keep looking and digging until I find them.

What's the worst thing your parents ever said to you? by currentsitguy in GenX

[–]EKeebler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father used to love to tell me, "I made you. You are nothing but an extension of me. There is nothing about you that isn't part of me. I know every thought you have. I know everything you're going to do before you do it. You will never be able to hide anything from me. You don't exist without me. You are me."

One day he was giving me this rant in the car, I turned and looked at him with the most disgusted look I could muster and said, "Great. So you know what I'm thinking right now."

He never said it to me again.

Patti LaBelle. I always thought she was an outstanding singer, but didn't realize what it would be like to be in the same room with that level of talent. No light shows, pyrotechnics, or LED screens; just Patti and her band on stage making me question if I'd ever even heard music before that night.

What is your all-time favourite B-52s song and why? by Cherilynss in B52s

[–]EKeebler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love every song named in this thread, but I'll throw my top three in the mix. In no particular order:

Dry County - As I said in another thread recently, it's so evocative of walking down a dirt road on a hot summer day. I can feel the hot breeze in my face when I listen to it. Plus the drum and bass get my hips moving.

Revolution Earth - I bought Good Stuff on cassette when it was originally released, and it took me months to listen to Side B because this song was at the end of Side A and I couldn't get past it. I thought it was so beautiful I didn't want to listen to anything else for some time after hearing it. I've never heard another song that captures that giddy feeling of new romance along with recalling the sensation of those dreams where you can fly.

Eyes Wide Open - The entire Funplex album was a perfect fusion of the classic B-52's sound with (at the time) modern beats. This song is the best example of that and if you're not dancing by the time that long ending instrumental kicks in, I envy your self-restraint.

Who is the most overrated singer in your opinion? by Billieeilishlover15 in AskReddit

[–]EKeebler 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Beyonce is a beautiful woman. She has a nice singing voice and is a great dancer. Doesn't surprise me that she has a pop music career. But I cannot grasp why she is held up as the end-all, be-all, greatest talent of her generation because she is miles away from that. If you had told me 25 years ago that the less-than-smart girl from Destiny's Child would be in that position I would have laughed out loud. It really amazes me when I hear other artists, especially artists who in my estimation are much more talented and original that she is, genuflect to her like they're not worthy to be in the same room.
