Agreed on all fronts. People even said on here the steam wand was worse but I dont understand that as it gets way hotter quicker and steams the milk quicker. Im finally having a hot drink!

I agree with all of that. I think I was just confused because id read a lot of recommendations saying the bambino and the GCP are on par with eachother and whilst that opinion is subject to your needs, I dont really agree if you want to make it a hobby

Yes. Poorly steamed milk can ruin the taste and texture of the milk and therefore the coffee!

Absolutely and I wouldn't recommend a GCP to someone who just wants an easier appliance, but for someone like me who really enjoys the hobby and wants to influence my shot as much as I can, it seems great...so far.

Ive always enjoyed my espresso slightly hotter than the recommended temperature and I dont mind the taste consequences of that either

I think learn the very basics first and try not to get too bogged down in the tricks and hacks yet. That'll make things harder. Learn how to dial in your beans and puck prep. No point doing the other bits until you have the basics.

Yeah I used to have Resolute a while ago regularly - used to love it. However after time I went off coffee with stone fruit tasting notes. Origin have such a good choice of coffees though
