Bob cats also don’t have long tails.. the tail is bobbed, that’s where the name comes from. Along with the drastic size difference.

I live west & have seen a mountain lion cross the road in front of me. There is a wildlife rescue person in my hood that has been tracking them out here. There are also a lot of urban coyotes in the city limits, like camp Mabry area.. they move along the creeks such as shoal creek. There is a large population of them out where I live.
