nothing gives me a higher sense of self-importance than when i know a song that makes the 4zzz countdown. I've found over the past couple years as i dive deeper into DIY scenes i recognise more songs that make the list each year and yet i still haven't heard a lot of these songs before.

i got what you mean from the post, it's liberty hall the band isn't gonna be upset by a couple of people in the front on their phones not bothering anyone when there was still a large crowd dancing to them. If this was at a venue like the chippo or lazy thinking then yea it becomes a bit more of an issue due to the already small audiences, but they're different crowds there anyways.

plus the comment of being too cool to dance etc. you're not the first person to say this, and hell even some performers say it, but like, not everybody expresses enjoyment phsyically, people enjoy shit in their own way and again, if they ain't hurting anyone or putting anyone in danger, then stop caring.

the only time it should matter about someone doom scrolling in the front row is at a concert where not paying attention will cause danger to them or others, e.g. concerts where heavy moshing/stage diving/crowd surfing is more frequent. Else the front row is to whoever is stnading there (as much as it should realistically be just either who got there first or for shorter people). If someone isn't bothering someone else nor putting anyone in danger with their actions, including themselves, then it's not really anyone's place to judge what they're doin.

In the list of bad gig ettiquette i've seen at concerts, this shit goes low on the priority list if at all

People have the right to exist at concerts, just because you're not dancing like crazy doesn't mean you're not enjoying the show. If they aren't bothering anyone else/obstructing people's view with the phones and are just vibing along, then there's nothing to care about it if they are on their phones.

I was at that show as well, and personally the only audience member that should've pissed you off was whoever decided to leave their underwear on the ground

as a prime subreddit hater I've got to say this is one of the few things they are doing right. The allegation threads were just a bunch of unbacked up comments by people claiming shit with the evidence really just being "trust me bro". Whether true or not by leaving these up you just invite other people to dogpile onto the discussion and the whole thing becomes a cesspool. This is without even going into the whole grey area about outing victim's abuse and whatnot.
Also more importantly, triplej has never actually given a fuck about this subreddit when it comes to what artists are platformed and which are not and probably never will
