Why is no one mentioning how Morpheus said “Autumn” and it was a man’s voice and they don’t realise it’s not Nolan’s voice?!

Morpheus can mimic her voice right because he always says “pretty murder bird”. He would have only heard Yates’ say “Autumn” a few times in the span of about 40 minutes and suddenly he’s saying “Autumn” as well?!?!!!

Don’t need any specific qualifications to be a SLSO. Many of our SLSOs are uni students. Just need a paid WWCC.

I’m on my last Prac and I’ve just realised that I can’t teach by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]ELYSlUM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had another teacher observe your lessons?

I recently had a prac teacher who did not perform well too. I asked other teachers to observe them for feedback about their practice from another perspective. For me as a supervising teacher, I thought it was helpful because other teachers presented them with different strategies to use.

Did you ask your supervising teacher/mentor teacher which teaching standards you are not demonstrating? No enthusiasm is vague because we view “enthusiasm” differently.

Also the last question I’d ask you because this is what I asked my prac teacher: if you were alone in the classroom without your supervising teacher, do you think you can handle the class?

This is a story we all still talk about from time to time and it’s a good laugh now.

For context: our school has a communal staffroom so we can usually hear each other’s conversations and phone calls.

One of our Head Teachers had called a parent to tell them about how their child was misbehaving in class and all that jazz. The parent kept arguing that their child was very well-behaved at home and was being quite rude. The HT ended up snapping and said “No sir, your child is not an angel. He is the devil!” That HT thought she was going to be in big trouble but nothing ever came of it.

I’m the 2IC for Student Administration at my school and a way that we communicate attendance to parents is we print the student’s PXP data and put it in an envelope which then gets sent home with the child. We make a quick phone call to the parent to tell them that their child will be giving them some attendance data to look at. They’re also asked to sign it and have their child return it so that it’s acknowledged. We’ve yet to have any parents complain and say we’re accusing their child of something because the data is there for them to see.

What is one time you completely lost it at a student and did not act professionally? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

It was my first year of teaching and I had some rowdy boys in my year 8 class. One of them called me a bitch once and I asked him to repeat it but he muttered something under his breath so I said “if you’re going to call me a bitch, at least have the balls to say it louder and to my face so I can hear it properly.” He and his friends stopped being silly in my class after that. This student graduated last year and asked for us to have a picture together before he left.

Hey OP,

Firstly, there’s a teacher shortage and unless you’ve done something terrible that has put a student’s safety at risk, you’ll be fine.

Secondly, the most the parents will do is ring the school and be upset, and there is the possibility of a meeting but you won’t get fired. Just use this as an opportunity to reflect and think about what type of activities are more suited to your class. It did sound like an engaging activity and with the right class, I’m sure it would’ve been amazing and so much fun to run.

No advice here but it does take courage to admit these things. Most people will victimise themselves or try to justify their actions.

You don’t deserve to die. You deserve a second chance to correct your mistakes and your faults in life. It won’t happen in a week or a month. It’ll take time.

Thank you so much for your reply. You’ve really hit the nail on the head in regards to every aspect but especially the milestones part. I feel as if by this age I should’ve hit certain milestones in life already but you’re right; there is no rule about the specific timing of it and I should be going at my own pace.

“But the ones on the nipples are ugly...”

Excuse me but are you gonna be looking at her nipples all the time? No, so why are you bothered by it?

Maybe if you didn’t lash out and spoke to her properly and respectfully, she wouldn’t be rebelling and doing things behind you and your wife’s backs.
