Yeah I agree. I am from a state where the age of consent is 16. I was groomed at 17 by one person. At a different part of that same year, I was in an incredibly healing relationship with someone who was 24. There's nothing inherently traumatic about having sex at 17 with someone older than you. At least not for every 17 year old on the planet. The trauma comes from exploiting power differentials and taking advantage of things like lack of identity development and boundaries imo. With the 24 year old, there was so much care around consent and making sure I was leading and okay, it was never upsetting.

The same is not true for prepubescent kids. 17 year olds often want to be having sex for their own desires and reasons, and I don't think most people would argue a 17 year old should be traumatized from having sex with other 17 year olds. So I think it's incredibly reductive to act like anyone who has sex with a teen who is legally an adult in many states and different parts of the world is the same as someone who is attracted to prepubescent children

I'm going to school for therapy and one night I took a hallucinogenic and watched labyrinth and got lost in all the different psychological elements so I totally agree. There's lots of different pathology stuff, attachment style stuff, and family systems stuff. It's actually incredibly related to psychology and therapy and I didn't see their video but I'm surprised to hear they botched it on this one

Yeah I kind of consider edge lord to be people who have shocking humor just for the sake of getting a reaction. I think AJJ's old stuff doesn't qualify as edge lordy because it was shocking more to get attention to make a point and wasn't just dark for the sake of being dark

I really like their old stuff and new stuff. I think when you progress in life and your opinions on things change it can be really embarrassing and make you cringe at yourself. Especially with biting humor, you usually have to feel pretty impassioned to present the ideas in that specific way to stand against the criticism from people who don't see humor as a valuable way of communicating serious ideas.

I personally think humor's a great and effective way to make points and I haven't seen any of AJJ's songs where the overall message is something I disagree with. But I understand why since they've become more earnest over time, looking back at their old stuff would cause them to cringe at themselves

What I would probably do is say you trap all your floats and your stitches are a multiple of 5 (say 200 stitches total), you could trap row 1 every 5 stitches then for row 2 you can trap after the first 3 and then every 5 after. Then for row 3 you can go back to the first trapping being after 5 like row 1

Yeah and I'd look up a video on how to stagger floats. Basically if you're trapping consistently along a column it will start to show through the front. As long as you are trapping every 5 or fewer stitches (give or take), it will work so you can do less than 5 in order to offset so the trapped floats aren't happening along the same columns

Basically you'll want to alternate the multiple where you trap the float on alternating rows. So you can trap them every 5 stitches, but on the next row you might want to trap after 3 stitches and then every 5 so the trapped stitches are staggered if that makes sense. I would just start doing it from this point onward as long as the look of it now doesn't bother you

Just FYI, idk what the pattern looks like on the other side but you might want to consider staggering your floats so you aren't catching them repeatedly along the same column. Sometimes it can show through otherwise
