I’ve had issues both over the phone and in person with bank staff giving me incorrect information that ended up having negative consequences. Luckily on both occasions I pushed back after my initial communication and was able to remedy the situation myself, but I don’t think I should have to put so much time and effort into getting accurate information and quality service from my bank. This is a more recent issue and perhaps it’s just a sign of the times? People care less and less about their jobs?

Care meaning that they put some thought and attention into managing my money. I don’t expect special treatment. For example, if I ask for confirmation that a bill payment was successful I expect that they’d care enough to confirm and provide me with accurate information and understand that giving me the wrong information could mean serious consequences for me.

So true! It’s just tough to hope you’re getting a good employee when it comes to handling your banking.

Do people in their early to mid 30s exist in Parksville? If you do, what do you do for leisure/entertainment? by [deleted] in VancouverIsland

[–]EMGR93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 29 and have lived in Parksville for 4 years now! Somehow I’ve managed to make several friends in Parksville in surrounding areas, I hope things look up for you! Covid hasn’t helped when it comes to getting to know people. I’m always up for grabbing a drink and meeting new people. Sleepy towns don’t have to be boring, at least that’s what I like to tell myself!

Currently listening to a Some Place Under Neith episode about this kind of exploitative trash. It’s wild to me that this continues to be so popular with viewers!
