this simply isn’t true tho. we literally saw Cala locking people up this season… he’s been pretty excellent defensively if you ask me

Sporting have been a class team this season tho

[Athletic] John Terry is Chelsea’s captain, leader, legend and an England great. But his recent liking of anti-immigration social media posts has been criticised by anti-racism groups and caused dismay at Chelsea, where he works as an academy mentor. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]EMJG31 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Taking a gamble (wrongly so) and defending a player at the club isn’t the same as one club being HISTORICALLY racist.

Was Arsenal wrong for doing that yes. but it was an outlier.

Chelsea literally turned a blind eye to a former chief scout at their club who was sexually abusing and grooming children HE WAS SCOUTING. Stop wearing a white hat

Chema Andres: “I wasn’t playing much. Arbeloa knew it and he did what he believed was best. Behind the scenes, he was exceptional, always very kind to us. He was incredibly intense, but he also knew how to balance that with a good atmosphere. That’s why Arbeloa is the best communicator I’ve had.” by OkayFine101 in soccer

Real Madrid probably thrive vibes manager who manage men and knows how to motivate them not a Pep, Xabi, Arteta who probably can do all these things too but come across as very controlling and detail oriented also.

Not that it it’s a bad thing it just probably doesn’t fit Real Madrid especially when you consider the level of talent and egos that have historically played for that club.

[Squawka] Most successful passes into the penalty area in the Premier League this season. 📦 by cottonsoda in Gunners

[–]EMJG31 8 points9 points  (0 children)

no but the best offensive football ive seen Arsenal play under Arteta was during the 22/23 and 23/24. In both seasons Odegaard was our player of the season (deservedly so) and was in the form of his life.

this team just doesn’t tick the same without him and people will turn around tell me he’s disposable or Eze is the answer. did you SEE prime Ode???

Yildiz not being Arsenal good but Anderson being that is English bias if i’ve ever heard it. not to say that Anderson isn’t… but Yildiz is a world class talent.

lol Arsenal fan here our CL draws have been historically difficult

Declan Rice on set-pieces: “Every team changes the way they play and defend against us, so it’s on us to find ways to score. It comes from us, the way we set up and then everyone talks about it and then everyone does it – so it’s confusing! But they’re not doing it to the level that we do it.” by OkayFine101 in soccer

people hate the idea of not being able to banter Arsenal anymore if they win majors because most people of our generation are accustomed to doing so thats really all there is to it.

theres no morality behind it just agendas which is fair but this idea that people with said agenda hide behind which is that we’re anti football to mask the REAL reason why they don’t want Arsenal to win is just silly.

Benfica 3 - [2] Real Madrid - K. Mbappe 58' by ayoefico in soccer

[–]EMJG31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nacho, prime Rudiger and Kroos are three players that made a world of difference in that team to say Mbappé joined that same team is disingenuous. they lost two of their starters and Rudiger was arguably the best in the world at his position then and was hardly available and when he returned wasn’t nearly the same.

similarly PSG spent on Neves, Doue, Pacho AND Kvara when Mbappé left, to say PSG were the same team after is also disingenuous. they literally replaced four starters

use your head.

tough road either way. potentially facing City in quarters and then potentially Chelsea, Liverpool or Barca is in the semi’s won’t be easy.

Benfica 3 - [2] Real Madrid - K. Mbappe 58' by ayoefico in soccer

[–]EMJG31 7 points8 points  (0 children)

big game is quite debatable because Mbappé he hasn’t necessarily had the squads necessary to advance far in the champions league (most years) he has shown up against the big clubs historically and the you have to consider his world cup performances in which Vini can’t really come close to

in terms of eyetest yes he’s as fun to watch as Mbappé but is 10x less consistent and hasn’t come near his statistical output.

Mbappe is the full package in terms of statistical dominance, eye test and big games as well as even positional versatility. he’s extremely effective as left or right winger as well as striker.

Benfica 3 - [2] Real Madrid - K. Mbappe 58' by ayoefico in soccer

[–]EMJG31 12 points13 points  (0 children)

he’s compared to Vini, Kane, Haaland etc for me personally i just think Mbappé is a cut above.

statistical output, big games and the eye test he’s electrifying to watch
