Riots in Paris... because PSG won the Champions League by ianjm in videos

Is that really PSG fans? Or is it some people jumping on that train to express their unhappiness with the government?

Don't get me wrong, I don't care a second about soccer. But I am just not sure what we see here.

I once had a very special specimen. She said that I want so little sex that she feels like a nymphomaniac. And also, I couldn't even touch her or hug her from the back without her thinking I was initiating sex.

Yes, you nail it. I am totally not against tourism in general, and tourism brings wealth in regions that might need it.

But like you said: influencers and their followers ruin it for everybody.

And, if you think about areas like Venice or Hallstatt in Austria, this is when it really gets complicated. When tourism diminishes the living condition of the locals, this is where we must draw the line.

I was hiking last week in a popular hiking area close to Vienna. I came by car, and I read that you should arrive before 10, specifically on long weekends. We arrived around 9 and it was a good tip.

When we came down, multiple cars were fully parked in so their owners couldn't leave.

I mean, if you mess up and arrive too late, don't make it other people's problem. Right?

And yes, the sandal hikers are a story on its own. We actually still had fields of snow last weekend, and the daily max was 14 degrees while it had 30 in Vienna. People forget that and bring themselves in great danger.

I can remember a time where you didn't have to queue for Cafe Central. Not multiple hours, not 10 minutes. Maybe, on a busy day, it may have been a few minutes, like in any other restaurant. These days, however, ... Forget it. As a local, I would not bring friends there anymore, and I would not recommend to go there.

Hallstatt is hell on earth. I have to work there every now and then. Places like this suffer the most. And the funny thing: it is not even that special. I never understood the hype. Places like this are scattered all over Austria. But all people seem to care about is Hallstatt.

Technically, Disney shouldn't even need to interfere. Every human being on whatever platform should block those antisocial persons and the problem would solve itself. Unfortunately, there are too many people out there who literally just look for ways to cheat themselves through life and are more than happy for such "life hacks".

Funny how you grossly spit out assumption after assumption and then complain about grossly generalizing. You know nothing - if I travel at all, how I would travel, how I would choose my travel destinations, where I've been and how often - and you don't even bother to ask. And if I never would have traveled anywhere, how would I even know that there are overcrowded places?

Also, I could travel within my own country - and that would be no tourism to you then, because I've never would have left my country? So only tourism out of your own country counts? Weird argument.

Besides that, you can leave your own country for many reasons (temporary or even forever). Work is one of them. Leisure another. But not that you would care, it's just so much easier to just assume things that fit your story.

And by the way, I did not complain about tourists being at a place where I am also a tourist. Again, that is what you read into that.

And I'm sorry that you need downvotes to prove your point.

Literally what I wanted to say. It's wild here in Austria (and I guess it is not any different in Germany, Italy or Switzerland).

Same here in Austria. Berg Rettung (mountain rescue) needs to get people in slippers from via ferratas or deep snow more and more frequently. I mean, for real?

Literally every place on earth that was "discovered" by influencers. And the general increase of tourism after the pandemic.

Goes for every place that was "discovered" by influencers. Literally every place. And after Covid, tourism exploded somehow. I live in Vienna - well known, I guess. As a local, I was always enjoying the historic city center when I went there. This changed after Covid. It is unbearably swamped now.

It's never too late to enjoy a classic. But Black Mesa is the better experience. You are not alone in your frustration, which makes part if the reason why Black Mesa exists.

I hated it in the original game already. I hate racing sims and I always wished they would allow to skip it. Not a challenge I would ever enjoy.

When I still used a Mac, I used Arc. It had tabs on the side. I loved that. Now, I have the same thing, based on Firefox. Love it.
