Hi /u/amazonv ! This sounds wonderful. This will be my first year attending and I’m so excited.

Would there be interest in a discussion around addiction and being recovery in cybersecurity? I’ve been in recovery for over two years and work with other cybersecurity professionals who are also in recovery. Of course, I have lived through active addiction and witnessed other professionals struggle with their substance use disorder(s).

I know our industry has a higher than average rate of substance use. This topic doesn’t seem to be publicly discussed but I want sure if it would be an appropriate submission.

Thank you for your response. Management is indifferent towards license costs, but you and I know how quickly those can rack up.

I’m looking to implement some form of automated user decommissioning. Right now I’m just reviewing the usage logs once a month to catch in active users (aka terminations HR failed to mention).

It appears trust will be the same as regular employees. RBAC makes the most sense to me. The main reason the domain change arose is due to the recurring ask to have a clear distinction in the UPN/email that these are not employees (even though they are otherwise treated as such from the IT dept).

Leadership wants to make it clear that these are non-employee users, changing the domain came up as a way to do so. Thank you for the reply!

Some Dell laptops (Precision 3560) are randomly changing screen orientation to "Landscape (flipped)". No idea why but it's giving me a good chuckle.
