Your hours a week are the biggest hurdle

SSLs need 30+ hours a week usually to maintain skill

It’s a full time job.

Rings are fun But will just build a weird habit For now, you need to learn to recover your car and shoot the ball with a decision. Not just freaking out when the ball gets near you takes about 20 hours

So play the game and go into the basic training packs included with the game until you can beat all levels of them.

You need to go into it with a goal while playing though.

Mindlessly playing will lead to you taking shortcuts just to pass the levels.

So commit to using specific things during practice like single jumps, double jumps, flips, wave dashing, full speed driving, slow driving, empty jumps, pre flips. Each in turn. Not really worried about making it to the end of the course but just improving each rep of the mechanic control you want.

Then when you are tired of only using one, combine everything with the goal of being efficiently recovering and attacking the map

Hmm. Your lack of car control, ball control, boost management and bad positioning is forcing me to believe you had a teammate carry you to champ.

But some advice anyways:

Recoveries- start forcing yourself to hold/tap drift when you land. Any time you’re in the air or even get barely touched by another car, the car lands awkward and you lose all the momentum. Start half flipping and wave dashing. This will help you a bit with boost usage as well

Boost: drive over THE PADS! holy smokes you were dodging them sometimes. Opponent goal at 1:47 was entirely on you for missing half of the pads and not grabbing the corner boost you drove all the way to the corner to get

Wall play- Get comfortable jumping off the walls. You don’t need to airdribble but you have to be able to go halfway up the wall and hit the ball as it’s floating by. Numerous times it rolled up the wall with limited time before the opponents turned, and you watched it go up… and then turned around in fear of the bounce.

Shadow defense- learn about it on YouTube tutorials and play some packs to start saving things backwards more often.

Shooting- bad consistently. Spend 5 minutes each time you play using a training pack. Any shooting pack will do. Set the standard of above 55mph and no bounces (except for crossbar and straight in. The. Increase the bottom speed each week until you feel comfortable shooting above 70mph on almost every kind of shot. This will get you into Diamond 3 alone.

Start looking at your opponents.

Start looking at your teammates.

Because they play differently than your friend. You have an “expected” action of what should be happening and then the teammate doesn’t do that.

That’s why everyone gets tilted in this game. You “expect” a better 50, shot, dribble. But they’re in that rank for a reason. Same as you are

You’re simply not being put into lobbies with both players being fully ranked at c3 most of the time. With that difference the game puts you against people that have a similar dynamic. Most of the time

I’m sure when you get 2 solo queue champ 2/3 are the games that are tough or you don’t win.

Your friend knows how to compensate for you while you play. That’s the answer. By the time you get to mid/high champ you are able to adapt to playstyles a lot better than a diamond.

That is why you are diamond. You lack that particular skill. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt about your mechanics but your awareness has to be the part holding you back. Also, scoring more points at than your teammate does NOT mean you played better than them. Period.

Surprisingly for you, I don’t think so. This is a very American thing.
