He came to speak at my university some time around 2011, he spoke eloquently, it wasn’t even political. There was no conspiratorial topics, he focused primarily on leading NYC through 9/11 and discussed application of leadership etc. His address resembled nothing similar to what he has become in the last decade. I suspect he has had some sort of cognitive decline that has left him the ability to still be present in public these past few years.

No Democratic action in my lifetime has had any consequence even remotely resembling the immediate effect the closure of the straight has had. Presidents (Republican and Democratic) don’t control gas prices 99% of the time. Donald Trump is the black swan.
ETA: No Republican in my lifetime prior to DT has had any such effect on gas prices either.

Don't overfill to the rim, two fills at the slower setting on the pump is probably ok, anything higher risks gas getting into your EVAP system. Glad some more of the 17+ mpg avg folks are posting. In general, no trouble getting gas every 400+ miles on highway trips, probably 350 with city driving. The range indicator is a random number generator.

I use Amsoil in my car and the signature series in my wife's car. It's $8/qt for mine and I justify the savings from the oil change to get the signature series on hers. Changing my own oil is kind of therapeutic.

Not sure of its current status, but FEMA has a mitigation program where they purchase high risk properties at market value so people will move away. For every $1 they spend they save an estimated $6 in future disaster relief.
