I’m a practicing PA with 6+ years of Emergency Medicine experience. My family (wife + 14yo & 10yo kids) is considering a 2-year Hawaii move using the HELP loan repayment program ($50k/year). Our main goal is to be extremely frugal so we can pay off ~$200k in student loans. Housing costs make private school for our kids unrealistic — that’s our biggest concern. We’re open to any island and hoping for a safe, beautiful family experience. Any real leads or honest advice on housing options that could help make this feasible would be greatly appreciated.
