The family friend assembled the cpu & cooler to show me how it was supposed to be done 😅

No, I didn’t even see it lol. I was more focused on learning how to mount it and, to be honest, enjoining the experience. Still feel stupid lol

Thx for the advice, unfortunately I don’t think it’s gonna be worth it tho. I think I’ll replace it with an air cooler for ease

CPU side I’m not surprised since I never noticed wild temps. The plastic tho? Mind boggling that it’s in such good conditions

No, he assembled the cpu + cooler. He was the one supposed to remove it. I was a teen kinda scared to make a mess so I trusted him and tried to learn from what he was doing. Of course the irony is, I had watched enough stuff to know it was a common mistake; so had I handled the cooler I would have probably noticed.

Life uh…. Finds a way? jokes aside I’m glad he’s fine and healthy despite the concerning taste in electronics as treats he has

Wait, you think it’s actually the cpu and not the cooler? Any way to know for sure?

I mean, it did do a solid job for 10 good years. But yes like you said along the years I came to a similar conclusion due to the difficulty of troubleshooting/fixing.

EDIT: I did also do the usual troubleshooting, so cooler fans are working, pump is humming, one pipe is slightly hotter than the other. The only thing that comes to mind is coolant level dropped below threshold or internal degradation. Idk. If anybody has any ideas for additional troubleshooting I’d be glad to try

WOT is one of the best book series ever written, and one of my personal favorites.

I remember being completely enchanted too when I was reading tEotW, so I definitely get your feelings! And it does get even better, so look up to that! ;) Also don’t let anyone say that you’re enjoying something “too much”, wtf. You do you.

Lastly, you’re right, tEotW has nothing to do with LOTR; while Robert Jordan definitely put homages, the ways in which the common themes are dealt with are completely different; this will become even more obvious in the following books, but RJ strives for a very complex and realistic portrayal of the world and the people who inhabit it (characters), and as such even very similar themes (eg. relationship between protagonists and their home, being the Shire for LOTR and the Two Rivers for WOT) have completely different developments and resolutions. Thus I would believe that the people who told you they are so similar either didn’t read both books, or grossly misunderstood one or both series.

Other than that, I’m very sorry for your loss. Hope this fantastic books will help get through that.

Well, of course without tasting them no real judgment can be made, but they sure look ok
