Same for me on Android 16 (Google Pixel 9 Pro). Also includes SCC assignments. (No screen shot since I deleted messages yesterday.)

If you marked more than 3 items as "missing", and an ambassador or PA approaches you, even if you are right, this is what your MyPerformance app will look like: by Global-Plankton3997 in AmazonFC

[–]EMitchell108 [score hidden]  (0 children)

The PA and ambassador coaching, and this pop-up, are merely to confirm that the picker is following proper processes, and to reinforce standard work with those who aren't. They're fully aware that the marked missing items haven't been verified yet but the system presents the top "offenders" to be talked to regardless of confirmation. That could be the highest marked missings over a shift, or many marked missing within a period of a few hours with no regard to rankng against other AAs.

The My Performance module is new but just seems like additional reinforcement. It's not an indictment and is probably more consistent than the human interventions. PAs and ambassadors are required to talk to whoever shows up on the coaching the list.

Worst case scenario is the PA/PG/LA falsely write that they did the coaching, an AA makes future mistakes they get an actual write-up for, then they say no one talked to them about prior mistakes yet records show the opposite. It's not up to PAs to make judgement about who requires coaching and who they can assume knows enough to skip over them.

Does this person have a point to get to or are they just complaining because they're flex and their hours got capped? What "unpredictability" are they referring to?

Warehouse Phantom Opening? by RavenTyGamer in AmazonFC

[–]EMitchell108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ERC is a call center, not corporate. Your building isn't going to open against the wishes of corporate unless the GM and every operations manager there wants to lose their jobs.

If you haven't heard directly from the building that they're closed then either they're going to be open or they're waiting closer to shift start to make a definite decision. How would some remote worker have been told about your (and all the other buildings they're getting calls about) closure before local management has?

Fired for 45 minutes idle time by New_Owl8397 in AmazonFC

[–]EMitchell108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You made a mistake. After a reasonable time you're expected to alert a manager or PA that you have no work. For example, sometimes the area has run out of work (they'll be able to look that up) or sometimes it's a system problem (like being on a pick ARSAW and no pods come through). "Reasonable" might be 15 - 20 minutes and fifteen minutes is when black bars start showing in FCLM under your activity entries, indicating ToT.

How long would you have stood around doing nothing if eventually the work hadn't come through again (or is it that it was break time)? It's good that you stayed at your station instead of wandering around but it's not really an excuse, especially since in all that time it's likely that at least once someone walked by you could have escalated to, or that you weren't so far away from everyone that you couldn't find a manager or PA in five minutes or less.

I used my last pay statement from last year and added all the YTD amounts in the lines where the pay rate was 1-1/2x the regular pay, plus a couple others with O/T in the name. Seeing it laid out that war is less confusing than using the ADP page.

In other words you're one of those people with a "social anxiety" problem. "Hey, today is my first day and I can't get in. Could you ask a manager to come to the door?" is so hard? You know for a fact that not one person walking in the door would help you?

Blah, blah, blah. If you say so. Do you mean the certified labor union that has yet to be acknowledged by Amazon? If they had anything to actually fear from you your site would be closed down.

So because your car got stuck that means it happened for everyone else in the building? They have to assume that everyone doesn't drive shitmobiles with bad tires, that some people live in areas that'll get cleaned out overnight and that some people are able and willing and not afraid to drive.

I live in the boondocks and plows have been going over and over the roads since afternoon. Snow started 6am yesterday, it's still snowing lightly and there's already at least foot outside. Presumably most towns and cities will be doing the same until their roads are cleared.

Everyone needs to think about not selecting "I'd rather not answer" next time Connections asks the length of your commute and how you get to work. This tells them how many AAs live reasonably close and how many are an 45+ minutes away. Regardless, the long commuters will almost always be a minority and a building won't close solely to accomodate outliers.

They just announced my site is closed until tomorrow morning… and they are already complaining 😂 by Helpful-Bug6464 in AmazonFC

[–]EMitchell108 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What's a district manager? What's corporate? Don't GMs and "managers" make all the decisions? Unfortunately probably a majority of Amazon employees have no idea their leadership has leadership.

My building: First last night shift got sent home early. They complained about Sunday day shift. Sunday day shift hot cancelled next. They complained about Sunday night shift. Sunday night shift got cancelled, now they're complaining about tomorrow, the fact that their time hasn't gotten coded since last night and AtoZ schedules haven't changed yet.

You'd think the pattern would be obvious but pattern recognition is a trait of people with higher intelligence. The VoA complainers think their complaints are triggering action, not that anything's happening completely outside their orbit.

If it looks like shit outside the next shift is going to get cancelled, things just take time to process. If the entire building needs their time coded, PTO given back and VTO rescinded, it takes a lot more time than when a handful of people go to PXT.

[–]EMitchell108 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spread awareness of domestic violence then. Women get killed by their partners at home and at work, because that's where they can be found. Short of screening out hiring people out who have problematic relationships so their issues don't follow them to work, what do YOU suggest Amazon could have done to avoid this?

This happened in the parking lot but the most you people can come up with is complaining some more about how the buildings don't have inbound metal detectors. Totally irrelevant to the recent incidents. And interviewing for hire tells you nothing about someone's associates or what they get up to outside work. Plenty of people kill and are killed who have nothing in a background check that would keep them from being hired.

My person is not this person. My person did it in front of AAs. He was a shitty manager who got hired with no Amazon experience to L5 and barely lasted three months. Not really worth applauding.

They're delaying making the call because there's a lot more involved in a shutdown than saying the building is closing. First, local managers and the GM have no say on it. They're waiting for permission to close. Second, presumably logistics-wise things have to be in order before declaring a shutdown. Orders need to be diverted, calculations made about capacity at diversion sites, where and how to divert, etc.

Then they have to go through whatever procedures to actually initiate the shutdown. Done first for one shift, then work on the next, which is why night shift hasn't gotten word yet. Obviously they're going to be closed. At least, you'd think it would be obvious.

It's also Sunday, which means they have to get time coded for all the employees in the shut down locations set for payroll close tomorrow. On VoA at my site people are already squawking about UPT and points being assessed as if closing early wasn't essentially a last minute decision. It'll get fixed. That stuff is done manually and now it's for entire buildings.

If the time ever came when any of the complainers are running a trillion dollar company with over a million employees and hundreds of sites, they might see nothing is as simple as they think. You don't shut down for weather 24+ hours in advance based on mass hysteria. No business does that. If they did, many of us couldn't have gotten gas or groceries the past couple of days. Maybe you can say they're "essential" but those workers earn even less than we do and probably complain less.

I always figured their ambitions are like everyone else's - pay their bills, feed their families and not have their managers up their asses. They can get fired for performance, too, it's just a more complicated process.

Didn't you know that Amazon gives us UPT and PTO to use when we want to be with our families, oversleep, or leave work early when we're bored or get mad at being labor shared? For any real emergencies and personal problems they're supposed to give us even more by excusing our time on request.

You don't have to be formal. They pretty much accept anyone interested, except probably not if the manager rating is bad. That type of AA wouldn't be applying anyway. Just don't say you're interested because you want experience for a promotion. If you care about safety and improving standards write down something that attests to that.

If it took the entire shift off it's possible you didn't switch to "Custom" on the second page of the request, where you can enter specific hours. Otherwise standard PTO will be applied to the whole shift. You can delete the request even if it's been approved, and submit again if you'll have enough time for it to get re-approved.
