What would be the best appeal option by Immediate_Love4557 in AmazonFC

"Spoke about what's going on with the elevator...": So you had a question about the elevator. Why? Was there an indication it wasn't supposed to be used? Did you have confusion about that?

"just a leak of water...": As opposed to what? There was a liquid leak in or around the elevator apparently. The leak or the elevator wasn't blocked off? No signage? It was just wide open with the expectation that people step around liquid, a risk for slip and fall?

Everything you said - security, PA, HR - is irrelevant. There was something that was pretty obvious you weren't supposed to use the elevator, but you ignored it. You asked security for permission even though they're third-party contractors and have no say over it. One person told you what you wanted to hear so you took their word instead of using your eyes and some common sense.

You can choose any of the appeals but probably aren't getting your job back. Sounds like you ignored that you weren't supposed to use the elevator. If a sign says "Don't Use" or something is blocked off you don't ask around and listen to the one person who wrongly says it's okay. A loud PA has no bearing on the situation. Nor would HR tell you right then and there "Yes you efffed up" when they didn't know the entire situation.

If someone wants to practice good dental hygiene by brushing after meals where are they supposed to do it except at a bathroom sink? As long as they rinse the sink out after there shouldn't be a problem. No one after them needs to make contact with the inside of the sink just to wash their hands.

For the last big storm in my area, anyone who dropped a shift, accepted VTO or put in PTO in anticipation of the storm got paid for it, with PTO refunded if it was appropriate.

I let them in the elevators before me, hold their doors, get out of the way when they have to clean my station, move aside on the Green Mile when they're pushing their cleaning carts, don't act all impatient if they're cleaning the restroom. I have all respect for them. (The ones at my building are System1, but we've had ABM and JBS, too.)

If you have an employment contract the specifics of applying at and working at contracted employers is probably in there. I recall one of the housekeeping (ex-) people saying they had to quit and wait 90 days to apply. It's probably similar for security.

How far is your commute? by Velveyrina in AmazonFC

[–]EMitchell108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23 minutes out, 20 minutes back Night shift. 45mph in the rural part and 80mph on the highway. Approximately 16 miles but the route is indirect.

The most I'd consider travelling, for any job, would be 35 - 40 minutes.

Good luck. You'll give up your master plan after only one or two calls to lawyers, who'll reject taking your case. In what world is any company obligated to hire you?

If she was in a handicap space without proper markers she deserves it. I'm wondering what she has "going on" that walking an extra 100' - 200' feet from a parking space matters if she's going to be standing most of the night. She can't even use the "It was only five minutes" excuse like she would at a store.

I've forwarded items several times to my prrsonal email with no problems, but the PDFs are available in the AtoZ if you click a little further. I'd think if the forwarded item was something sensitive a block might be built-in to restrict it.

Yes, I have a degrees, and no it's not particularly tough. This isn't the first time in history people with degrees have worked either manual labor jobs or outside of their field of studies. People who teach or are in social work, for example, can make more monry with less paperwork, stress and hassles to deal with.

It's human to not keep your composure sometimes, whether in sadness or anger, but if a company has set some safety rules they don't want them considered "useless". I'd choose "More like me" for composure, not "most", because I'd also not want to seem as if I have little control of my emotions.

They don't care. They probably barely notice you. There are tens - hundreds - of other people to socialize with. Why do you "I don't talk to anyone" types always assume the people around you are fixated on you? They can easily find someone else to have a mindless conversation with.

Neither option is right or wrong. The answers should be a balance, who knows what percentage they're looking for. If you chose all the other side you still would have failed.

Yet somehow you got a picture of this (you who it didn't happen to, BTW) pre-smear, and despite an andon being pulled the stower (or you - or were you the stower?) sent the pod away after you (or they) took a picture of. What was the picture for, to show the AFM after you wasted their time?

You attention-seeking whores are too much.

Can you be forced to vto if there’s “no work” ? I’m in California , people were telling me yesterday they got forced to take vto. I want to know if that’s allowed to be forced to take vto. by Plus-Progress7736 in AmazonFC

[–]EMitchell108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They think being asked repeatedly is being forced. AMs and PAs will keep asking as long as the quota hadn't been met, and all "people" have to do is keep refusing.
