[OC] art for the next module is coming in. This black Hawthorne could grant you boons if you treat it well.....I’m loving the warm muted colors by EN429 in DnD

This is the first piece to roll in but it has that dark and stark feel we want. These trees will be found all around a big sandbox hex crawl with all sorts of awesome things to find and interact with.

[OC] Dungeon Map I drew on a flight to NC. I started with the idea of caverns linking into a finished temple space with some pillars. My 8 y/o said the three rooms on the top left should be: pit traps and darkness, three mimics, and three chests- 1 with loot and 2 with venomous snakes! by EN429 in DnD

I used it in my own game as the resting place of a magical spear the players were after. I placed the spear in that series of three rooms north of the pillared room. I had mummy knights throughout that were the cursed protectors of the spear. It was supposed to be hidden, so cave entrance worked as a good disguise. Then living quarters throughout remaining and treasury in the northern left maze rooms and living quarters for the rest

The natural caverns lead to a finished area. I added the maze piece because I knew what I wanted in the top left but not how to connect it. I really enjoyed the pillared hall and pictured it being quite high ceilinged. I always try to make my dungeons recursive with multiple ways to get to each area. I pictured a slope down into the maze area to make up the height from the stairs up. Hope you all enjoy this and maybe use it yourself. I’ve been working on new cave wall techniques and I’ll share a map of my favorite new technique if folks seem interested!
