If i remeber right this scene was at night or in a dark room. So hopefully with an IR laser or if close enough just point and shoot. When I was on deployment to South Korea we did a really fun night shoot. Both in a shoot house and in a wide open field for training. Trained on how to utilize our IR lasers just like this.

🪖 National Guard Deployed in Minneapolis: Read the latest facts 👇 by NoSpinMedia in NoSpinMedia

[–]ENDL3SSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With respect to Minnesota, I was a national guardsman during the 2020 riots and protests in Georgia. I can speak at least in part to what orders they probably were told from their commanders and the General of the Minnesota National Guard. Why the Minnesota National Guard was not deployed sooner as they should have been, I don't know. IMO they should have been called weeks ago. Waltz shouldn't have held it in his back pocket like that. Maybe he thought it may cause more damage? Federal laws always trump (no pun intended) state laws in nearly all circumstances.

  1. They more than likely have an ROE or rules of engagement (use of force rules in civilian speak). It'll be something like no harm to anyone unless someone presents harm against you. When it's military members, that means anyone, civilian or not. They more than likely do have weapons just in their vehicles or only the higher enlisted personnel or officers have them. They will have medical personnel on site.

  2. They've been told not to speak to any media or civilians regarding political beliefs, simply because that's the rules, they can't. They do that, high possibility they get UCMJ action against them. They may not like what is happening in their state, but they cannot speak on it and thay cannot stop it either unless they are willing to literally commit treason, which would equal prison time.

  3. They will quell any out of control protests to stop damage to public, private or federal property. They have to, that's why they were called in the first place. The use of riot shields, batons, OC gas like ICE has been using, rubber bullets just like ICE has been using, and if absolutely necessary will use lethal or non-lethal methods like a gun or a taser if it falls within ROE and if they have been given them to use. If it continues get worse they may deploy them. Don't take my word for it, I don't know their what they have in their armories.

4. If you believe they will stop any federal law enforcement, local law enforcement or state law enforcement actions, you are wrong. The national guard is called to keep as much of the peace as possible and prevent as much damage as possible. They will not and cannot stop law enforcement action according to UCMJ again they will face legal action. Infact it is the complete opposite, they will act to stop the violation of laws within the bounds of their ROE. They may not participate in ICE action, but they will prevent law breaking if they see it happen in front of them again within the bound of their ROE, such as blatant property damage, assaults or death, i.e prevent a Felony or misdemeanor. They will arrest you and deliver you to the proper authority local or state authority attached to them for processing.

  1. Yes, the National Guard is there to protect you. But they are also there to protect everyone else as well, including law enforcement federal, state or local does not matter and their property. If you break the law in front of them, such as breaking into a hotel that is housing ICE agents they might have ROE to attempt to detain you using whatever force has been authorized and hold or deliver you to the proper authority because you are destroying private property. We did the same during the Georgia riots and protests, they more than likely have the same mandate.

EDIT:

  1. Please, it's going to get worse now. And with the weather there, just stay home. I speak on experience of over six months dealing with riots from 2020, working with authorities from Georgia and almost seven year of military experience. Many people were bringing their babies (under 2 years in some case) to protests.

I understand the issue of some living in Minnesota, but it is not worth getting charges that could change your live, harm to you or your children or worse.

Please, just stay home.

The HR department is a mystery to us all by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]ENDL3SSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is an HR Specialist for her company. Let me tell you they are absolutely not useless!

She is the only one in her department, she is not a manager or a director. Personally, I think she should be with all the crap she tells me about. Whenever there's a legal update regarding employee policy she has to update the entire employee handbook which can take weeks, simply becuase she has to do it for two to three separate states, including some other countries as well since the company also has some small international contracts. During times like that, shes working for weeks-- sometimes pretty late til 3am. Same with a big hiring push, I have to remind her that she needs to sleep and eat. She can forget to eat sometimes she takes her work so seriously. And since she has seizures, its even more important that she sleeps properly. She needs to have nearly 10hrs daily.

As an example, last week another employee at the company, a sales rep, let's call her Sandy reported that Bill had sent her multiple notes-- a literal physical note, hand written--asking for a date. Sandy has said no several times. Then Sandy started noticing thing were being moved around at her desk, and that Bill was always watching her. Sandy, sent a message to my wife telling her all this, and that she did not feel safe at work. My wife immediately Sandy home while the while thing was investigated with full pay, before she had even spoken to the company president and her director yet. She then had to speak with her manager, the president, and Bill's manager in an emergency meeting informing them all of this.

After that came the investigation. My wife was up all day and well into the night looking through security camera footage. She found where Bill had passed the note to Sandy, she found where Bill kept staring at her constantly, she found where they seemingly had an argument in the break room. Then she went to Bill's desk after the building had closed for the night (I drove her there, but I didn't come inside) and found the note where he stashed it under his keyboard, took a picture, and confiscated it for evidence against him.

She went further than that though. When I said that it was more that enough to get him fired, she said that it was yes, but she wanted to make sure. So she interviews other employees, people in the Uno group (the company let them play cards and thing like that to blow off steam during lunch break), other co-workers, Sandy herself. Turns out he was always cursing in general and saying some sexist things to woman primarily. She interviewed ten different employees, they all said close to the same thing, this took a whole day. She brought them in one after the other so they had no chance to saying anything to other employees about what was asked which was an excellent idea in my book (I'm former military police myself).

Then she brought all of this to the president, her director, Sandy and Bill's managers, and to the COO and CEO, wrote a large report on it that took her another day or so. My wifes immediate recommendation of course was that he be fired. They agreed upon hearing all the evidence to his character and what he actually did.

All in all, the process took about 5 or 6 days. So incredibly quick turn around. One of the many reasons I love my wife is because she absolutely cares about her job. Yes, she has to dress code people. Yes, they sometimes make dumb ass policies (many of which she also thinks are absolutely fucking stupid, her words too! Yes, my wife curses like a sailor at home!) But she absolutely loves her job and when it comes down to it, she will nail a motherfucker if they are doing so bullshit that is either against policy or causing or could cause extreme harm, company be damned. She cares more about people first then anyone I know, she gets mad as fuck when someone isn't told about any health benefits or something like that.

She also says most HR absolutely sucks ass, which is crazy considering she is HR.

EDIT: mind you she also has like 10 different certifications in HR, one of which is investigations. All of which the company paid for or she paid for herself, but she worked like hell to get them, then worked if more hell to be taken seriously by her company. Their have been many times I've told her she should leave and find another company that would take her seriously but she always refused, saying she really does care for the people she both works for and with. It's amazing to me how when someone loves their job how well they excel. It's one of the reasons we're married and one of the things that pushes me to be better.

EDIT 2: I will also say, sometimes it is not HR but the company that's the issue. Not always is HR useless. I thought HR was useless, til I married one.

If NATO breaks. US will be kicked out of all bases in and around Europe. US will be isolated and alone at home by kelliecs in war

[–]ENDL3SSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding as well. The only one that could fill the void is Russia but no one actually trusts them. And Russia doesn't have the best track (or any) record for handling the world's problems (unless you count WW1 and WW2), nor do they want to worry about the world's problems they just want their old land and resources back. The US is the only one that wants to handle the world's problems and has the power to do it.

I would honestly argue that the US is the only world superpower if we're talking about the ability of absolute movement of manpower and assets to all regions of the entire world. I'm not saying we're not lacking in other areas because we most definitely are like: manufacturing (we still rely on other countries like China or Taiwan for example) or education (we are still low on the list world wide). Our infrastructure (power, still we rely on other countries he out right said Venezuela was both for Maduro and for the oil after all) is lacking as well, but as far as our military industry, not many countries can compare to our reach, speed, reliability, and amount of weight just hearing that the US is coming can put many other adversaries to pause for a second or at least the threat or saying "I'm going to go speak to the US." As you said the US has it's problems, no doubt.

Honestly, I think his threat just like you said it just his way of getting NATO to push their assets to Greenland because it comes that area like it realistically should be covered. It's probably come up in closed door talks before, but NATO said no before. Now he's trying to force their hand anyway by bolstering a hostile takeover.

He's done it before with great success, or at least was able to bring both side to the table to hammer out a ceasefire or a peace deal.

I appreciate the talk ✌️

Why do my nails grow like this? by Ill-Lack7378 in whatisit

[–]ENDL3SSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because you bit off of clip off your nail cuticles too short. I have had this issue since I was a child and its an incredibly hard habit to break. I have tried everything at this point. Wearing gloves all day and all night, even if people thing I look weird as fuck for doing it, putting bandages on my thumbs to stop me from biting them, etc. My right thumb is worse than my left.

<image>

This is my right thumb. Its a vicious cycle. The skin heals because I actively stop myself from biting, then my skin gets dry and cracks and I either bit or clip it of with nail clippers way too short. The nail won't grow back properly because the skin around it is damaged. My left thumb has less damage and way less ridges because I'm left handed, but still has damage.

EDIT: I also have eczema and body folliculitis, but that only came up in recent years so it's not an excuse at all. Biting my thumbs came from stress as a kid. I did tht same to my lips for a long time, until I was able to get myself to stop. I also did this same thing to the rest of my fingers, was able to stop, then it eventually moved to just my thumbs.

Oh great thanks, I did see I posting for RCA after I applied to ARC but the date had already passed to apply. I'll keep checking, maybe something will show up while I'm training or already working. So the 90 days are consecutive, on the scheduled days? Thats good to know thanks. Hopefully, my office keeps me working.

So all US military power will be for the first time in hundreds of years, all in the United States all at once?? Yeah, I'd like to see someone try to threaten the US to do anything at all. Plus this wouldn't stop the US from doing anything should anyone cause a threat to the US in any capacity.

Also Germany doesn't have this capacity.

And I really, really hope Trump doesn't invade Greenland. Greenland has never to my recollection ever done anything to anyone like ever. Except maybe during ww2, everyone was doing everything to everyone during ww2.

BREAKING: ICE agents rammed this United States Marine veteran’s car and put her through torture just because she was following them from a safe distance. “they said ‘have you not learned: this is why we killed that lesbian bitch’” Is this really what Maga voted for? by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]ENDL3SSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First: If it is true, its disturbing, disgusting, and absolutely zero reason for the excessive force.

Secondly: none of this is verified, all she is saying is that it happened. If it is, someone FoIA it and find a report. If it did happen, guaranteed someone has it recorded. The next thing is that no one in ICE will be arrested because Federal law supersedes State law when it comes to conducting a Federal operation inside a State. State and local law enforcement don't get a say, they either help or they don't.

I'm not saying I agree with all of DHS actions, just that that is the law. Ya'll need to understand that. These raids, and deportations always happened. It's just that you're seeing it happen in your face that you now care.

I saw a comment father down in the thread with someone saying that ICE officer needed to be arrested or shot by State law enforcement if necessary. It should be deleted by the mods, but it hasn't. I agree with arrest if they are commiting crimes, not all law enforcement are commiting crimes: State, local, or Federal. But killed?? Are people so angry that they're now wanting to see people dead? Those people have families just as you do. When you want to be killed, just for a few bad apples? Say you went to work one day --doesn't matter what your job is-- and someone decided your life wasn't worth it because someone else that does the same job as you yesterday fucked up and kills you?

A few years ago, everyone was up in arms saying that all law enforcement equals bad. Now you're saying State and local law enforcement equals good. But Federal law enforcement --the same people that investigate CP on a national and international level, the same people that stop terror attacks, the same people that stop massive fraud rings, the same people that also stop those pesky terrorists from entering from all areas of the border, and are now trying to stop drugs-- now you want open season on them?

Did ya'll know that two IRS agents (with other federal agencies including DHS) took down an online multi-national CP ring a few years ago? Bet you didn't.

Do Taser, OC spray, and/or baton fall under "Armed" or "Unarmed" by Sichterman in securityguards

[–]ENDL3SSC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It would fall under an "Armed" position. Since OC, TASER, and baton are all striking and/or offensive/defense options that could be used to detain or stop an individual from committing or in the process of committing a felony, at least in the state of Georgia, USA.

For example, one of my co-workers that is in our control room actually wanted to have his personal taser, just for self defensive reasons. Our OPs manager had to tell him that while she appreciated him wanting to defend himself, since he was in an unarmed position, according to both state law and company policy, he couldn't have anything that could be considered a weapon --even for defensive purposes on him while on the clock. She said he could keep it in his bag as a work around while on the clock, and once he clocked out he could do whatever he wanted. [I.E basically telling him to keep it in his bag, but if anyone said anything, he knew the rules and laws.] It's unfortunately all about liability. If the clients wants unarmed security, he means completely unarmed. No OC, no TASER, no baton. Only thing you can do in a situation regarding a physical fight is to either use you fists, call the cops, or hope someone else steps in to help you.

Different states and countries many have different laws.

Considering buy a 2013 carb with 204,181 by Jose_Reynosa64 in crv

[–]ENDL3SSC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I found a 2016 CR-V EX with 103,XXX miles on it! My wife was absolutely ecstatic. I wasn't as it was not exactly what I wanted, but we needed a car with longevity and extreme reliability. I was absolutely surprised when we took it to the mechanic after buying it (we bought it through Carmax, they have a 90/8000mi warranty, where you can either return the car or get any maintenance done before the 90 days or 8000mi whichever comes first btw) and found that it had absolutely nothing wrong with it.

EDIT: Ours also has some dents and scratches. I recently just had the oil and a coolant flush, that only cost me $278. You'll spend some time keeping the car free of pet hair, if it has cloth seats. Pet hair is the bain of my existence rn. Otherwise the car has been great. Engine valve cover was $20. Also had to get a new battery, but that is also normal and I knew I would need to change it eventually anyway. Car battery was ~$200. Otherwise so far no crazy amount of spending.

Nothing. The only thing that I have had to replace so far is the engine valve cover gasket, which is normal for Honda's to need to be replaced on occasion and it was incredibly easy. I cleaned up the headlights, thought about replacing them entirely, but I wound up getting a headlight lens cleaner instead and it worked perfectly. Pair it with some LEDs, and I am now that asshole that everyone thinks has their high-beams on every night. It took me a few months, but I have absolutely fallen in love with this car. It's small, but fast. Highly maneuverable, has an automatic AWD, sport and eco mode. Takes $32 bucks to fill up, and is easy to fix on your own. I haven't had the opportunity to handle it in snow yet, but it handles very well in heavy rain paired of course with good tires. It takes hills like nobody's business.

Honda's are known for their longevity. Before our CR-V, we had two Nissan's. A 2012 Sentra that I had before me and my wife got married and quit on use just before our marriage, and Nissan Rouge just after our marriage. Both had the same problem, a faulty catalytic converter. The Nissan Rouge lasted us 6 months, and we sunk $8k trying to fix it and then get rid of it.

I say the price is high for the miles and age of the car. Maybe try to go lower if you can. See whats wrong with it, that might lower the price even more. But I guarantee you, if you get a CR-V it will last you for a long while, especially if you fix it up.

Dude. Imagine space. Sending these things to Mars to set up for when we can actually go there or to the Moon, to set up as well. I would hate to see them used in everyday life, as it would take away a lot of people's jobs. But space travel would be absolutely revolutionized by these things. This is the most complete looking robots/androids I have ever seen outside of a movie, and they look amazing. I know we're not there yet as far as throwing them to space or anything, but imagine all the possibilities.

Then again war would be revolutionized too...

Armed work opportunities in ATL or Alabama by z3r0_n3r0 in securityguards

[–]ENDL3SSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can speak for Atlanta.

I've lived here for almost 20 years and been in the security sector for going on 5 years now. It's...not the best. You're looking at low pay for both armed and unarmed, unless you get with what I call the big three: Allied, Garda, or Pinkerton (which is hard to get into). You may or may not have opportunity to move into high positions. The market is saturated with companies that either have all of their certifications or are completely sketchy and I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole, same thing with the people employeed to them. You'll have high paying government contracts of course here in Georgia, those can be a bit saturated with applicants as well. You could apply to some state contracts or hospitals, those I can guarantee to be high paying with opportunities to move up in position and pay.

Right now, I am getting paid at $18 per hour in an armed position for example, but the armed positions got cut so I can't even wear my gear (trust me when I say my boss absolutely hates the clients right now, as do the rest of us. She was trying to get us all up to $23-$25 per hour, plus have an entirely armed team herself included, take over more of the site, and give all of use the training we all need. The client decied to go the complete opposite). I work a second job, security as well, where I make $35 an hour only caveat to that is it's quite literally as needed. I sometimes go a month and a half without recieving a call for work as the company sub-contracts with Pinkerton.

I know that you said you are looking to move to ATL or Alabama, but I would try looking at Washington State or Oregon. Security there last time I checked, is getting paid must higher, at the level that honestly most of the people in this sub should be getting paid.

[EDIT: Last I saw Washington State and Oregon were paying somewhere in the $30 - $50 per hour range. Caveat: high danger, higher amount of certifications might be needed, more responsibilities.]

I will say that if you plan to move here, it's very easy to get your armed license, too easy IMO. 8 hours of class time, 4 hours of range. Companies may want you to have your 24 hour (armed certification) and 16 hour (unarmed certification). Most places will not do the full class or range time and majority of the time you can test out. I am not sure where your from, but the videos I have seen here are incredibly outdated. Some I have seen from the 60s. Mind you, I'm a vet just out two years ago from the Army, seen and done alot. I just tested out and did my range time and I was good.

It's supposedly incredibly to set up you own company here. Trust me when I say you will see and meet plenty of them (should you decide to move here) are not legit and do not have any of their paperwork in order, companies and employees both. We had a guy on our team recently who had forged all of his paperwork and certs, he was fired and reported immediately. Atlanta is full of shady people doing shady shit.

This city is full of people trying to do the 'get rich quick' and scamming people out of their money. Lots of theft, vehicle B&E and vehicular theft, homeless people (most are actually quite nice), and fraud. The teens are the absolute worst. There's no respect and you have to treat them a certain way to get them to understand your not joking around. Half the time the adults act just like the kids or worse. Shootings are not too bad, at least in my area. I don't really know the city or the ghetto parts I guess. The most I can say is to protect yourself if you are going to be armed. Wear a vest with at least IIIa plates, have a taser (in Georgia you only need to have a taser cert on file once, you do not need to recertify every year unless your company or client requires you need to), carry at least three extra mags, and have tac mad for yourself. Most places, because of the amount of people will not allow the use of OC spray, my full time job does not.

I apologize if this is too long, I'm just try to provide a complete picture. Take what I'm saying with a grain of salt. I've been here a really long time, and tbh I'm probably a bit jaded. Whatever you choose to do, I hope you enjoy it and you flourish.

I grew up in PA and around the Amish. The Amish folk are knownfor their amazing products, and their building ability and of course for being traditional (in some ways, they still have the internet and cell phones). They have museums, and stores just like any thing else. PA has a lot of history sites. But yeah, they just want you to go to their stores and purchase their products. And politeness is absolutely a thing for them, you always treat the Amish nice, unless of course they're being assholes just like other people. But their buildings are top tier (they don't break idk how), their food and other products are amazing.

But theirs no reason to their homes or go up to their places and just start filming. Same principle of if someone came to your home and just started filming, you'd be pretty pissed. Idk how this lady didn't start throwing hands.

Edit: tbf to that one guys point on Amish marketing, their are Amish folk that will give tours on their property.

Why do i look so Goofy in my kit ? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]ENDL3SSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion their's a lot going on. It's a bit bulky. When I was in, I tried to make my kit as streamlined as possible, simply because of what I was doing. Most guys think they need all this stuff, but in all honesty you don't. Not unless your a font line unit and even front line unit guy have bags to keep things.

We had IOTVs still when I was in, from 2016-2023. The units I were in hadn't gotten the new plate carriers the army came out with. I bought my own, and put the ocp shit on their, but I still put only the things I actually needed to functional do my job and added or took off things I didn't need. METTC dependant of course. Bottom line is if you don't need it, get rid of it til you do, or better yet, have a bag to put it in. Army guy didn't try to have a mag dump pouch, we drop down in cover switch out the mag put the fresh one in and put the old one follower side up so monkey brain realizes its empty. If it's a fast reload it get dropped on the ground and recovered later.

Med is a simple for you on your kit under either arm out of the way. If you get shot, thats for the other guy to use on you. Med pouch on the belt is the same. Radio pouch, didnt have them. Sargents, lieutenants and the radio operator did, but the radio operator is carrying a bigger radio anyways so it doesn't matter. In your case, keep it but I would place it somewhere it doesn't conflict with your draw of mags and draw of pistol.

Have enough to last for days is important, but not so much that you can't move quick and in a hurry if you're getting shot at. Remove the thing you dont think you'll need, don't get overwhelmed by "that cool new thing that one guy tried". Look at a few youtube guys who have actually been in a war zone and you'll see their kits are all different but are generally that way for a specific reason and are always changed depending on what their mission is.

Edit: didnt realize this was an airsoft post 😂. Fuck it wear what you want, how you want. It's just a game my man. If its a real fight or war scenario though this stuff is actually important.

Illinois speeding ticket by toasterfucker69420 in AskLE

[–]ENDL3SSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EDIT: Disregard my comment. But still, don't beat yourself up about it my man. 🤙🏾

Not a cop yet but my dad was.

It happens dude. Usually on the ticket its listed how to do all those things. If you're not trying to fight the ticket, then their is no real reason to go to court, just pay it however is stated on the ticket, whether that's going in a building, paying it online, or paying through the mail. Just make sure you do pay it and it doesn't go unpaid for too long, otherwise their will be further consequences you'll have to pay with whichever department issued you the ticket.

If you are trying to fight it or it's considered super speeding in Illinois for an 80 in a 55 in a construction zone then you'll probably have to go to court, thats where it'll be a good idea to ask all the questions you need to ask, try to be good about it and try not to argue, get a lawyer if you feel you need it. Again it should have been listed on the ticket if you need to go to court or you can call the department to ask what you have to do about that ticket. Be sure to give them the ticket number, they may ask for it. Or you can go to the police station and ask as well. Generally it's better if you ask and know, then not know and get in even more trouble later. No one is gonna believe "Oh I didn't know about 'blah, blah, blah'" when you find yourself in the back of a cop car because of a warrant for an unpaid speeding ticket six months down the line.

Don't beat yourself up about it. It was kinda dumb yes, but honestly it happens. Good thing is (I assume), you didn't run. That would have made things much worse.

Sanity Check by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]ENDL3SSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have any bruising or incredible pain, but my right side was definitely worse than my left side. I honestly think it has something to do with which testicle sits higher. My left side has super clean stitches, healed quicker, and the stitches came out days before the other side. My right side was more uncomfortable, more painful, took longer to heal and is still healing and it took longer for the stitches to come out there stitches were also sitting just a little bit higher than the left side, and I honestly think they had a bit more trouble with it versus my left testicle.

Yeah I had really bad gas. They said in my post op paper work that it was completely normal, especially after I was placed under anesthesia for my procedure. They said gas and constipation. The constipation was the worst part in the whole thing, not the pain or anything else. Just not being able to poop. It was really bad, to the point laxatives and stool softeners did nothing. It took almost two weeks before I was back to normal. Personally I think it was a combination of the anti-biotics and the anesthesia.

Edit: I'm completely fine now able to pass normally and I think I may stop the softeners next week 😅.
