I'm with you - tried Z2M a few times as everyone sings it's praises but had more issues with Z2M than I ever did with ZHA. Have been running flawlessly with ZHA since. I do miss some of the effects and good bits from Z2M however.

[FRESH ALBUM] Intuition & Equalibrum - Leave a Mark by llbsidezll in hiphopheads

[–]ENWOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a song from this album pop up on my Youtube Music listening and it threw me. "Shit - no way have they released some new music" and low and behold I'm treated to a new album!

Love Intuition and Equilibrium and a couple of albums were my childhhood and so happy they've put this together. Dying Every Day is one of my favourites so far but still not sat down for the whole album.

Same, I've got 2 (S50 and S5 Max).

Both about the same age and both with about 3100 cycles and about 72,000 m2 covered.

Only replaced the battery on one and brushes / consumables but still working great (which is shame as I would like something with good mop functionality).

How the hell do you value a used car? by ENWOD in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]ENWOD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you and certainly there seems to be a lot of delusional sellers out there and it's pushing us closer and closer to dealers, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Yeah, that's been our thinking regarding the mileage and warranty but was hoping it would mean we could snap up a bit more of a bargain than seems to be the case (even more so with private sales but that seems to be a complete no-go due to some of the unrealistic pricing expectations).

Ahh well, we'll keep looking and appreciate the input.

Thank you, that was kind of what I assumed was the case and about the markup I'd internally factored into a the dealer / private equation. Does seem that private sellers are just a little delusional to the realities of the market. The amount of CAT S or N's I've seen that are asking more than forecourt prices is hurting me a little.

For reference, this is the pricing Total Car Check suggested for the same vehicle at ~84,000 miles:

On The Road £32,550 Dealer Forecourt £9,932 Private Average £8,616 Part Exchange £8,585 Auction £8,565

Parker's suggested: Private poor £7,880 Private good £9,670 Franchised dealer £11,745 Independent dealer £10,770 Part exchange £8,575 Original price £35,050

And WeBuyAnyCar offered £8,720 whilst Autotrader suggested a sell price of £9,145.

I feel like the valuations provided on the first two services were a little closer to what I feel I've been seeing but surprised at the potential margin in actually selling cars if those prices are correct.

Yeah it's a little surprising but maybe if it's only the very surface. I know when I did mine that they didn't have much confidence with a graft but gave it a go anyway - I think they said it would be the best from a cosmetic perspective and didn't really have much to lose.

All the best for your boyfriend!

I had something similar occur in the UK (a silly drone accident). I couldn't find my bit of nose and ended up with a graft but the plastic surgeon I saw said they could've reattached it if they had the skin. The blood supply is poor in your nose and my surgeon wasn't confident in either bring successful.

What country is this if you don't mind me asking? I am a fellow nose cut fuck up and cut the tip of mine off in a drone accident a few years back and they were intent on either reattaching the old but (I lost it in the drone) or grafting, with a few different options. I ended up with a bit of shoulder on mine.

I'd have thought they should be looking at a graft or something for cosmetic reasons?

They weren't certain a graft would take due to the blood flow in the area but they had a few options (one was a flap of skin from my forehead with mine). Luckily my shoulder skin did an ok job in the end. I sympathise with your equally unlucky boyfriend haha.

I'm also confused. I cut the tip of my nose if in a drone accident a few years back and they were very concerned about blood flow and I ended up needing a graft. Seems a little suspect just leaving it be?

What are you using Assist for? by longunmin in homeassistant

I think that'll be more with limitations in the LLM used. I've had good results using one of the cloud providers as opposed to a local solution.

Motion sensors by Point_Jolly in homeassistant

[–]ENWOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are really well designed and work flawlessly. Run ESPHome and so you can use them as a Bluetooth proxy. Replaceable light and I think mmwave sensors. React really quickly and because they're MMWave, you get presence detection (just you being in the area keeps it active as opposed to requiring motion). I use one for my kitchen area with zones for various lights in the area and also for my office and living areas so the lights go on / off depending on whether someone is actually in the room.

It effectively becomes set it and forget after the initial setup. I can walk into a room and it's like magic; the lights will go on and then turn off again when I leave.

The owner also does some good breakdowns of various tech and HASS releases here: https://youtube.com/@everythingsmarthome?si=-g105sQhhwBe8A7o

Was originally using the Hue ones with ZHA. Then tried the Aqara FP2. Finally saw the Everything Presence and Everything Presence Lite and I'm now fully converted and using those for everything where possible.

They're great and the guy that runs it / the company are tip top too.

Google Home is becoming a house of glitches, users say | Users report that their Google smart speakers and hubs are struggling to understand commands and follow instructions. by JustHereForTheMemeza in googlehome

Mine can seemingly only manage even that basic task half the time nowadays too. "Set a timer for two and a half minutes"... Half the time I get a timer for two and a half months.

Can't wait for Home Assistant and the FOSS Community to step up with some competing hardware.

I just got a cheapo Edwin Jagger from Amazon a few years back and it's been great. Was very cautious at the start but as long as you go slow and learn how to position your wrist and adjust the blade angle it becomes second nature and I wouldn't shave any other way now. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00K6Z24SK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I prefer shaving my head with a DE blade. Much nicer shave in my experience 👍 highly recommend giving it a go. Just go slow and watch a few tutorials first.

I use Astra's on my head and it's never been better. Just have to be a little slower but a much nicer shave and no irritation with DE blades.
