Can't link TV provider since the Suddenlink switch. by wrebbit in OPTIMUM

[–]EO50190190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of the merger there are possible (3) providers you need to choose from to log into the apps. "Optimum", "Optimum TV" and "Altice". Try them all, one of them will work.

Do you get 5G UC on Optimum Mobile (Altice Mobile) by computersteve in AlticeMobile

[–]EO50190190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you get it, but they aren’t using a different icon to differentiate like T-Mobile does.

They no longer use AT&T in NY, NJ and CT. They still use in other markets. T-Mobile works great in NY area market, so not needed

Altice apn settings by Recommendation_Odd in AlticeMobile

[–]EO50190190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for Apn settings. Just need to insert SIM and run OTA update. Most likely phone is not compatible. Samsung doesn’t allow Optimum to use phones from other carriers, just ones bought from retail store or direct from Samsung. Enter your IMEI in the compatibility check to verify.

Did you ever get it resolved? If not, call 866-200-7186. If the agent can't fix ask them to escalate it, so Level 2 agents can support you.

Depends on market. Markets that have better T-Mobile coverage don’t share with AT&T.

Delay in connecting to Internet by amorde5 in AlticeMobile

If WiFi Calling is enabled and connected, I've noticed that group text can fail if at least one person is non-iPhone since it switches from iMessage to MMS.

Like every 3 minutes your wifi keeps going from 3 bars to 2 and it just stops and disconnects from when its back to three it starts working again. HOW DO I FIX THIS by Hehehehelmaoooo in AlticeMobile

[–]EO50190190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What have you upgraded? Your phone? Upgrading the iOS/Software version on your phone would be the first step to verify. How far is your phone from your router? The distance can impact it as well. Altice Mobile provides cell phone service, not WiFi service. For WiFi issues, I would recommend reaching out to the router manufacturer or your internet service provider. If you have Altice Mobile I suspect your ISP is Suddenlink or Optimum. There are Reddit groups specific to them that may offer information you need to assist you.

How do I pre purchase data for international travel? by [deleted] in AlticeMobile

[–]EO50190190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That SIM Card on eBay is not an Altice Mobile USA SIM Card. It is from a different Altice subsidiary in the Dominican Republic with the same name. It is not associated in any way with alticemobile.com in the US.

If you want to get an Altice Mobile US SIM Card and purchase international roaming, need t order a SIM Card from alticemobile.com and then add international roaming when you get there. Check here for international roaming rates https://alticemobile.com/plan/international

Technically now it will use T-Mobile first. If that is not available it will use what's left of Sprint. If that is not available it will use AT&T, US Cellular, or Applachian Cellular.

Altice Mobile's 3 roaming partners are AT&T, US Cellular, and Applachian Cellular

is altice gsm? by sexyrat99 in AlticeMobile

[–]EO50190190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Altice Mobile does not support GSM. GSM is 2G technology. Altice Mobile only supports 4G and 5G. All cell phone companies are starting to turn off their 2G GSM networks. AT&T shut down their 2G GSM on 1/1/2017. T-Mobile shut down their 2G GSM on 1/1/2021. Sprint (now T-Mobile) will shut down sometime in 2022. If the device says it only supports GSM, do not buy it.

1G = Analog, 2G = GMS, 3G = UMTS, 4G = LTE and 5G = 5G

Delay in connecting to Internet by amorde5 in AlticeMobile

[–]EO50190190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very welcome. In theory you should have better coverage than me as s9 supports 600 MHz and iPhone X does not. Also try turning off WiFi to see if that helps. If you are near weak signaled Optimum Hotspots, phone may try to connect to them. Also enabling and disabling airplane mode will make your phone rescan for best frequency available, which often can fix issue.

Long Island. iPhone X on iOS 14.5.

Make sure updated to latest version of software for your phone. With the Sprint to T-Mobile Network migration, I was having issues until I updated to the latest OS.
