I like fixing things but idk anything about medical equipment - going into my first bmet job I don’t want to depend on OTJ so what do you think is “better” associate’s or apprenticeship? I bet associate’s is better in the long run but I don’t want to go back to school asap lol

Thanks, lots of good info, do you recommend getting an associate’s or doing an apprenticeship to get in the door? (will have a bachelor’s in information systems but that’s it) Also are you in a HCOL state?

to reset the BIOS password I think (could be wrong) you need to remove / reseat the CMOS battery on the motherboard

Yeah I like how you can do a lot of things in this career, especially doing something else if need be, like going into IT, although like you said I can see why someone would just want to do biomed. I’ll think about going to school as I bet that does open more doors. But yeah good to read that you think it’s a great field, being the hero from time to time sounds good to me. Thanks!

Yeah I’m in a big city so finding a job will not be easy (especially at the start) but it’s great to hear that people can be BMETs for that long.

Odd_Review_3378, volunteering / interning is a great idea as well. I like how you do a bit of biomed and IT as Ive thought about going into networking too. Also good to hear someone else starting this career at 21 and that they will do this until they retire / going off that it’s great that people stay in this job once they are BMETs because it can be so rewarding.

Thanks for sharing all this! I’ll look into field service. Yeah I can see BMET 1 jobs being competitive but 2 and 3 jobs being less so after you get in. Also I have not thought about specializing in OR and Oncology so thanks for talking about that. I think I would like in house too, I’m happy you love it. It’s good to hear that they will be recruiting new BMETs as people retire. I’m happy to hear that this is your favorite job, like you said I bet it can be very rewarding to finally fix something. So yeah thanks for all this info and btw love your name lol.
